For anyone else that has done this, on page 14 step 3 of the Bracket and Head Unit section, it says to remove the uppermost timing cover bolt on the driver's side behind the coolant tube.

The tech tip says the coolant tube might need to be bent slightly. That coolant tube is hard plastic. It wouldn't bend enough with a reasonable amount of force. I'm good at breaking things like this. I ended up removing the main coolant hose right next to it so I could remove the plastic tube and remove that bolt. With that tube in place, I now can't get the 4.568" spacer mounted where that bolt was.

What can I do here at this step?

Advice is greatly appreciated!

Photos please. You're bending the wrong piece. The piece that needs bent is metal.

Yeah the pipe you bend is metal, but it does take some force. I was worried as hell in doing this step, but it came out great.

*Tests with magnet* Well look at that... it IS metal. :headbang: Doh!

Thanks man. It looks like plastic and I know for sure I would have snapped it off.

Yes, it does seem like it is plastic. I took an extra long flat blade and pried it over a bit and you can do what you need to do.

Pretty easy fix with a screw driver just bent it just a bit to clear the spacer ..Mine just touches the spacer a tiny bit... zero problems ..
