Did that take care of the problem? I'm trying to get all the information I can about prochargers.
I’ll know in a couple of hours. I have to go by my work to pick up some tools

Start with valve fully opened at idle. Then make minor adjustments as needed based on valve performance.

Is the blow off valve completely open at idle currently?

I think so. I went one turn in, and I got rid of the imrc’s. I have to run to auto zone right now to get a vacuum cap. When I get back I’ll fire it up and note the position of the valve. All my clamps were tight, and the intake manifold bolts were tight. That’s a good thing

Tried to do some testing, but the roads a bit cold for street tires. It started to get sideways on me at the top of third. I thought maybe I still heard the surging noise, but to be honest it was too hard to tell. I don’t really hear it in the video, but I think it would have been easier to tell if I made it in to fourth.

Does it happen only when wide open or partial throttle boost as well?

It’s only wide open throttle. I’m kind of thinking belt slip, but I feel like I would see that in the logs

The valve is fully open at idle. I ended up tightening the adjusting screw until I could see the valve just start to move and then I backed it off a half a turn. I haven’t driven it since. It will probably be tomorrow or Saturday before I drive it again.

Sounds like belt slip to me. Just like this vid. What do you think?

It’s definitely a very good possibility. I will say that I have not adjusted the position of the tensioner at all it’s just as Procharger sent it to me. Also I’m just running a standard gates k0805. Perhaps a green belt would be a good idea

How much did you pulley down? When I went from just a 4.38 to a 4.0 ProCharger told me I needed a new belt. They gave me the gates belt number and lo and behold it was needed.

I went from a 4.5 to a 4.25 and I did put a new belt on per ProCharger’s recommendation. I’ll probably pickup a green belt just for piece of mind. Despite the sound being a little annoying the car does run great and is more than a hand full. I was seeing 13 psi at 8k rpm with the 4.5 and now I’m seeing 13 psi at 7500

I run a 8 in crank pulley, have ran a 3.70 upper and spin the engine to 9k and have never had belt slip. I dont think slip is the issue. Run the rpm belt. Green belt is for work vans and 03 cobras.

good to know. I’ll look at the rpm belt. My crank pulley is 7.6 ish I have spun it to 8-8200, but I’m much more comfortable with spinning the stock bottom end to 7500, and 13 psi is about as much boost as I’m comfortable running.

Point was that on a stage 2 setup, slip is unlikely but not impossible. Green belt is designed to stretch like a rubber band. Stretch causes the tensioner sweep through its stroke based on amount of stretch. Plus a green belt looks like shit. RPM version is designed to stretch very little if any. Ideal for stg 2 considering dedicated blower drive and limited tensioner stroke.
