they should be quoting you for removing the head inspecting, and for resurfacing the cylinder head that's about it. if they're quoting you for needing an engine or assuming. then I guarantee they're gonna make sure you need an engine. just based on their approach, I would be looking for a new shop.
I don't even believe them. you probably only need a new intake manifold. these engines don't blow head gaskets on a stock procharger kit

I normally side with the shops since that is my profession and I know how hard it is to work on cars. However 35 hours labor seems high IMO.

Alldata has SHORT BLOCK labor at 20.5 hours. That is essentially what they are doing even though they should not be pulling the trans off the motor yet. I could see adding a few hours for the ProCharger.

I assume the reason to pull the motor instead of doing it inside the car is in anticipation of the lower end being hurt? Because head gasket labor is 12 hours, again add time for the ProCharger.
