OK, that's better. So some sage advice from my friend and detailer. Rocks and stones know exactly where your PPF ends. It will find that line and cross it. 100% guaranteed.

We were discussing my hood but it could pertain to anywhere on the front end of the car. To prevent the heartbreak of a stone chip please consider the following:

Full front clip, bumper, fenders, hood, & mirrors.
"A" pillars and leading edge of the roof. I have personal experience with both of these. Best $100 you will ever spend.

This is where I stopped. Others have done more but I reached my budget at this point. Good luck in whatever you decide.
I will heed your sage advice and do the full hood + pillars, I was on the fence anyway! It’s going to be my work car, and though it will be a frequently driven car (no illusions of keeping it pristine), I want to do my best to minimize preventables. Worthy insurance.

I'd only be considering that option if they'd tow it there, have no intention to be picking my car up with that many miles on it already. I mean there are enough folks, I am kinda surprised they haven't looked at getting this done in house and on site as a dealer option.
Fair enough, for me I'll be driving nearly 1900 miles (plastered with a large smile) back home to the Seattle area and it's going to be my work car, so I won't notice the few extra miles for that.

My work drive btw is a 200 mile round trip, 3-5 times/month to the airport. Sometimes in the dark of the early morning or very late at night depending upon my trip, It starts on a narrow windy two lane road from our small town, after around 40' opening up to limited access 4 lane, with the remaining 30' ending on I-5 near Tacoma up to the airport. Quite a variety of traffic and conditions!

mine will be my fair weather daily driver. the 86 bronco will be the bad weather DD...which is most days. I estimate I'll only be putting 4-5k a year on the mach, tops.

I went his route with my PP2 and wish I had done in front of the rear wheel wells and the whole roof. When going to the track there's plenty of opportunity for problems in these areas.

If I can swing it I'm going to consider doing the whole car on my next track/street car. If I had (should have) bought a GT350 I would have done the whole car. I might do it on a Mach 1. At least on the GT350 I think they had a stripe delete option.

I won't be going to the track, but sometimes I-5 can seem like it! I am removing all stripes, so I may consider entire body as well...

For some reason with the Mach 1 I don't like the idea of stripe delete as much as with the GT350. Maybe because the GT350 had much different front end and different fenders already to make it unique. With the M1 you would only have the badges left to differentiate it...and the front grill I guess.

I'm an under the radar kind of guy and prefer the discreetness, loving what's inside better than outside:-) That said, from the pics I've seen posted I really like that look, but obviously a very subjective & personal view. But agree, it does remove the original Mach 1 traditional look and vibe. I will most likely provide the option to reinstall the stripes for the next owner if they want them.

How are you people going to show the plebs with their GTs and Ecoboost just how much better you are if you remove the stripes from your glorious Mach 1s?

Externally there's really no big difference between Ecoboost and GT500. We're one big S550 family.
