Really started liking the PP2 front splitter lately and decided to fork out the Benji's for one.
I have a 2020 Velocity Blue GT Premium w/PP1 & magne-ride, a10 and really like the fit, finish and appearance finished product.
Being the O.C.D. / Anal car nut I am I elected to spend the extra cash and purchase the pp2 upper splitter which made the install super easy, all the holes and clips lined up perfectly between the upper and lower splitters making it a true plug-n-play installation.
Here's a little write up /photo's of the installation to maybe help anyone sitting on the fence ;-)

Here she is sporting the stock PP1 upper splitter.

Here are the part numbers for both the upper and lower splitters, the lower splitters can be a little hard to get these days, they sell out and then more show up about a month later.
Purchased my splitters from LevitownFordParts.com, one of the forum sponsors, you can find Benny in there thread in the sponsors section, he can hook you up with free shipping, on the various Ford parts sites shipping is outrageous for both splitters - $200.00+

Lower Splitter

First order of business was to get the car up on the race ramps and remove the PP1 belly pan and upper splitter, nothing to it, just a few push clips and some screws.

The only difference between the upper PP1 and the upper PP2 splitters is the PP2 splitter has the holes on the bottom to accommodate the screws and rivets that will attach through the PP2 splitter and into the belly pan above.

The PP2 upper splitter bolts right up in place of the PP1 splitter and it's self aligning.

I didn't have any help around to install the lower PP2 splitter so made good use of my hydraulic stool, worked like charm and made the install super easy. Clipped the lower splitter at each end and then set one screw in the middle, there are three line up pins on the lower splitter that match to holes on the upper splitter (circled)

, moved the stool and installed all the screws first and the rivets last.
The screws attach to J clips that are all ready installed on the belly pan and the rivets attach to existing holes in the belly pan.

Ford provides all new hardware - screws, rivets and push pins along with pretty clear and well written instructions.

Here's a couple of tools that make the job much easier and can be purchased at amazon or Harbor freight tools - a POM riveter made for plastic rivets and a push pin removal tool.

I couldn't stand the rip offs either and spent the cash for the Ford PP2 splitter. Im very happy I did i absolutely love it. I did reuse my pp1 upper splitter tho. How much was the upper? If you don't mind my asking

Looks like it requires amount of work there. I went cheap and got replica PP2 splitter from amazon. All I did was aligning it with upper lip and using 22 self tapping screws. No disassembling :like:

Looks fantastic!!

Curious if in place of the rivets/pushpins could I use rivnuts for easier removal if desired?

Loving this mod, have not bottomed out once and I have a pretty steep driveway and deal with lots of speed bumps around town...

After looking at PP2 chin splitters online, "Drake" has caught my eye. I really like the design of the side rocker splitters and rear splitters.
They also make a chin splitter thats is similar to PP2.
May stick with same brand of splitters from front to rear. Any supporting vendors beside AM and CJ ? Seems all the other vendors are performance parts

Looks like the OEM splitter costs $400+....and you still have to buy a $90 hardware pack?

Is this a Mustang or a Porsche 911?

Ok, @copperjohnc , you convinced me.
After groaning about the price for the hardware, I spent a while longer looking at your car and decided it was worth it. I found slightly better deal that included hardware as well as the predrilled PP2 version of the upper (pp1) splitter and went for it. So now I guess I'll have a spare PP1 splitter to sell or keep in case of damage. Considering that I still have an OEM 2012 Boss 302 splitter from the car I sold last year, I doubt I'll ever need it.

Do you mind sharing a link to that rivet tool? I was only able to find examples that cost a little more than I'd rather spend for a tool I may never use again. Thanks!

Good choice my friend, I'm kind of a fanatic about keeping things factory where ever possible even paying the hefty OEM prices.
Here's the link to the POM tool, worked flawlessly, have fun, it's a pretty fun install.
Here's the link to the https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SC9RLNB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

p.s. had a 2013 boss 302, Grabber blue w/ 2800 miles when sold, sold it for mre than I paid for it...

Thanks for sharing all of this info!

I plan to get started on this ASAP. The plastic rivet tool that you suggested works great.

Hello copperjohnc your post is well put together and informative. I'd like to add the OE pp2 to my pp1 as well but without purchasing the upper pp1 splitter.
My question to you is if I drill out those holes on the pp1 splitter using the lower pp2 as a template will it work?
If you have a front view Pics with the pp1 stock rims on I'd appreciate seeing how the 2nd splitter looks in front of the narrower stance of said wheels.
Thanks

You can use the PP2 splitter as a template, that’s what I had to do. Just be sure to keep the ends of the PP2 up tight to the PP1 at the wheel opening to make sure everything is where it needs to be in the end.
