I've been reading about this kit. When it first came out it was a lot more money and really wasn't worth it to me. Plus there were a lot of uninspiring reviews likely due to the fact a key component was missing from the kit. Now it's at the point where I am going to go for it. I have no interest in doing a blower or turbo. I just need a little more low end grunt and to get rid of that ridiculous rev hang. This kit pairs really well with the manual 6 sp and the PP1 or PP2 cars with the 3.73 diff gearing. I am going to order it next month. So excited to install this!
You and I are in the same boat. I'm ordering mine for the same reason - fitting on my PP2. Perfect for track season

Will you do the install yourself or will you go with a licensed tech install?

If the car is almost out of the 3yr/36k warranty that the kit would have provide, I would install yourself. I had a tech do it as the car was brand new.

my car is brand new. My friend is a master tech and will install at his shop
That's the best way to do it being a new car.

I have 1 year left on my 3 yr/60K as of May. I will be doing the install myself. The Ford dealers around here are pathetic. More of a danger to my vehicle than I ever will be. Besides I am not getting any younger and I want to enjoy the damn thing as I please.

I think you mean 5/60? installing now would perfectly overlap the remainder of your powertrain warranty.
3/yr 60,000 Km bumper to bumper.

doesn't apply. Powertrain, my good man. Or is it all screwed up on the North side of the border?
Ah, right, powertrain... so that's 100,000 km or 5yrs. Whatever comes first.

I just can't wrap my head around how the Ford Performance warranty takes over. It's a moot point anyway as I am installing myself. I am going to hit that 5yrs long before I ever reach 100k.

it overrides/supercedes the Ford factory one. In order to get the FP warranty you're supposed to show the tune was installed by an ASE mechanic. The actual work of installing everything else doesn't matter it would seem. I know, the stupidest and really hard to screw-up step they want a mechanic to click a couple button on some packaged software...

Well, that seems silly. So I can do the install and then have any ASE mechanic, load the tune to obtain the warranty? I might do that at least to have the FP warranty.

I just wonder how much of the gains are just from a more aggressive tune than the added components. They probably add the components just to justify the price. It doesn't much matter to me. I'm still going to purchase it.

try to beg a ride with someone who has an aftermarket 93 or E85 tune. And also a Bullitt. I noticed right away when I test drove my tuned car vs the Bullitt that the Bullitt rev'd more freely than mine and zoomed to high RPM effortlessly. And mine was a distinct improvement over the factory stock. The Bullitt didn't have the grunt that mine has though. We both had 3.73 gears so that's not it.

After installing the 4.09s and needing a Lund tune to correct for them (because the Procal was not available at the time), I noticed that there was no discernible performance changes after the “performance tune” and EVERYONE said that this isn’t Lund’s fault since there was really no performance to be found in the gen 3 Coyote without switching to ethanol.
It's the drivability improvements from the Ford tune that make it feel better than a Lund tune.

Lund nor any other tuner has acess to all the tables in the tune. Ford does.
