Wants great fuel economy.
Has the option for a V6 or Turbo I4
Buys V8 and complains about fuel economy
Nailed it!!

I find these people hilarious that complain like this:lol::lol:

Same here. I hit every gear, every time I drive. Why? Because it is fun and that is the joy of having a manual. Not to mention, the glorious sound the Coyote makes with an aftermarket exhaust setup as the RPMs build prior to each upshift or downshift.
Exactly. The Joy of Shifting.

Based on this thread I think National Lampoon needs to release "The JOB of shifting" in the vein of their "The JOB of sex".

You answered your own question. More accessible power when you choose. I have the 3.73's and have no issues. I average 20mpg per tank in over 10,000 miles. And it's not from baby'ing the car, I wore out my tires in 8200 miles.
I deliberately said ON TRACK, do you live on a track? Please quote the whole sentense. On the steet the v8 has power everywhere above 1k5, there's no such thing as staying in the powerband on the street to just keep up with the civic in the front.

I am simply saying that constantly skipping gears is the result of poor gearing choice.

How much someone enjoys changing gear every 5 seconds, is just a personal choice.

If you buy the PP and enjoy using all the gears, that's good for you.

If you buy the PP and have to constantly skip gears, that's simply a poor choice of gearing. It's just unforunate that you don't enjoy/benefit from every single change brought by the PP. The rest of the PP is still brilliant.

Drove my PP car home 500 miles after the S/C was installed. Cruising +/- 80 on the interstate majority of the way and computer said I averaged 22.9 MPG for the trip. The only concession I make to the 3:73 gearing is starting-off in 2nd gear when the road is level as 1st gear is so short.....but that's really the point in having 3:73 gears in the first place....to aggressively launch the car. When I went to the shop to pick-up my car after the S/C install, they had a '08 GT500 on the lift installing 3:73 gears.....3:73 being too much gear for a blower car is not an opinion shared by everyone.

This is crazy. My Pp is also a dd. When I'm driving to and from work I really wouldn't mind an auto, so shifting 2,4,6 or skipping a gear now and then make perfect since. When I take my same dd for a drive....no way I would want an auto and I use each. Gear and enjoy every shift. For anyone to say skipping gears now and then is a waist of the pp potential or a "poor choice of gearing" is lunacy. With my 3.73's I can skip and still be in the powerband (relatively) or bang each. Gear with joy when wanting to.

The PP is definitely worth it's price. It would cost alot more to buy all the parts separately or even go aftermarket (front brembos, 19" wheels, suspension, gauges, 3.73). I would have sprung for it but the 3.73 was a deal breaker for me. This is my daily so I prefer squared tires (cheaper on tires), longer gears and slightly better gas mileage.

Each one has its own preference for the gearing due to how the car is used, what so hard to understand? Mine is 95% DD +5% weekend canyon warrior.

Constantly skipping gears is different from skipping gears from now and then. I also skip gears some times even with the 3.31. Highway ramp 3rd gear all the way to 70mph, and then 6th gear.

Seems like I'm getting around 19 MPG driving to and from work (about 7 miles each way) the last month or so.

That's SIGNIFICANTLY better than my 14 V6 automatic (albeit tuned and also with 3.73).

This is just a better car, especially with the PP.....once I learned how to drive stick!

I wish there was an option for 3.55 gears with the Performance Pack.

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about (a few, I should say) about the gears. I think they're absolutely perfect.

The first manual I ever drove was a 2006 Civic. Every turn I had to down shift to second, in the GT? It's 3rd. I find power in every gear, and to absolutely optimize fuel efficiency on the highway, I leave it in sixth. I've consistently reached 25-29mpg.
<<< agree 100% with the above.

I quoted the whole sentence. Just bolded the part that answered the question.

And there's more to driving than on track, and keeping up with the Civic in front. Like the canyon carving you mentioned. It really seems like you're arguing just to argue.

Skipping gears... I really don't think it matters the gear set. I skip gears in all my cars because I'm not always in need of those gears. It doesn't mean I have the wrong kind of gears... it just means at certain times they have certain purposes...
