He is from Commie-Fornia. Don’t let him get to you

Really don't appreciate your arrogance, my car is sheet metal, it is not some sort of special trophy. Ford designed it for transportation and it 10 years it will be a depreciated block of sheet metal.
I will let anyone drive my car if they need it, I know I'm taking a real big chance since we are "so slow " in the south. What a ...

You don't have to answer the question. If you are really concerned about this, don't get the power pack.

I would say if you can't get premium fuel all the time, don't get it. Although I would like to advocate for the FP tune. It's night and day from the stock tune in all the best ways. It's really the way the car should have come from the factory.

That's what makes it so hard.

You could always get a sticker to go on your fuel door or something that says "premium fuel only". Pretty sure I've seen them on ebay and such. If you can't find premium than your SOL though. From what I've read the car should still operate on regular gas just fine as long as your aren't trying to make lots of power (IE staying out of higer boost). The issue comes in where if something did happen during that time then you would be SOL on the FP warranty since it requires premium octane to be valid.

Just do what I do, pull the trigger and sort it out as you go. Your probably smart you could figure it out in a pinch. You could always stock up 13 gas canisters with 93 and leave em in your garage lol.

My car is left unattended for days sometimes weeks at my home. OTR operator so never really know what goes on. I was thinking of fuel stickers as mentioned, right now I wish it had a fuel cap to put one on.
My wife is a slow poke so wouldn't about her hot roding much, grandson well what can I say he's 18. But I want him to have the memories of a Mustang. He never drove a clutched vehicle before, took him out on a dirt road and got-'m learned enough to drive around in my Mustang with 800 miles on it.

From the Ford Power Pack warranty:
https://performanceparts.ford.com/warranty/include/pdf/Select_Parts_Warranty_Statement_2017v2.pdf

Premium Fuel Requirement: Customers who purchase power upgrade packs, cold air kits with calibration, engine
calibrations, or superchargers are required to use 91-octane or higher (“premium”) fuels at all times. Any failures
associated with the non-use of premium fuel will be ineligible for warranty repair
Banjo thanks for the link, I noticed that was OK if an "ASE" mechanic installed tune. I was under the impression from post on other threads that the tune could only be loaded by Ford dealer. Am I reading that correctly?

Yes, any ASE shop can install the kit. Just email FP afterwards with all the required information, the template is somewhere in the FP tune thread.

Thought ford was on record saying 87 is fine with the power pack, it would suck but shouldnt cause damage, unless they changed their story again.

This page used to say 91 was required when they first launched it

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-9603-M4

They took that bullet down after they confirmed it will still run on 87... ford performance, ford, all the same to me
Who is "they" and what do you mean that they "confirmed it will still run on 87?" I think you may be confusing information in the Owner's Manual for the EcoBoost Mustang and the Performance Calibration offered by Ford Performance. Ford recommends 87 octane in the Owner's Manual for your EcoBoost Mustang. It also includes a statement that you should use Premium for improved performance. The Performance Calibration sold by Ford Performance changes the programming of the engine control system such that you may no longer use 87 octane.

You can read the Limited Warranty Ford Performance offers for its Performance Pack tunes for yourself. It clearly states you must use fuel with a minimum octane rating of 91 at all times, and that any failures resulting from use of lower octane fuels will not be covered by warranty. The computer logs data that indicates the octane of fuel you are using.

Whether you believe it or not, Ford Performance and Ford are not the same company. There is certainly some cross-pollination between the two, but they are separate entities. On the page explaining its warranty policy, Ford Performance writes:

All Ford Performance Parts are aftermarket parts. Ford Performance Parts are not Genuine Ford Parts or Accessories. Therefore, they may not be used in any application that requires the use of Genuine Ford Parts or Accessories.

Ford Performance Parts Parts are sold "as is" with no warranty. A Limited Warranty is available for some select parts and will be denoted by the following logo:

Many folks here have messaged Ford Performance regarding the use of 87. While it is highly not recommended, it can be used for emergencies. Stay out of boost as much as possible until 91+ can be found. So basically dont use it lol.
