I suspect the FP intake is included to justify the $750 price tag (when bought from FP directly). Although I would have paid $550 for the tune alone I figure ford included the intake in order to present the FP tune kit as some sort of Double whammy. The FP intake does sound cool I guess and IIRC...
Yeah get the FP kit, It changes the car entirely. Get to keep your warranty too. I recently had to switch back to the stock tune for 2 days after some warranty work and i forgot how god damn slow the stock tune is. FP tune is dramatic, Its not gonna be as aggressive as a good 93 tune but its a...
About the limiter. Is that a parameter of the stock tune? Im suddenly alarmed bc im doing road america in a month and that would hamper me and be rather embarrassing on the straights. Im on the FP tune
I had something nearly identical to what your describing. when i would come to a stop smoke would just pour out from the engine. After inspection I noticed ample amounts of oil / coolant on the side of the block. The fluids were falling onto the downpipe and vaporizing. I took it right to ford...
Just do what I do, pull the trigger and sort it out as you go. Your probably smart you could figure it out in a pinch. You could always stock up 13 gas canisters with 93 and leave em in your garage lol.
I would say if you can't get premium fuel all the time, don't get it. Although I would like to advocate for the FP tune. It's night and day from the stock tune in all the best ways. It's really the way the car should have come from the factory.
Ok well it does generate more power because the engine was designed to run on the stock tune between 87 and 93, 93 being the higher end of the spectrum. running 93 it will have more knock resistance and have a wider margin before pulling timing. what makes you think that 91 would be the same as...
I hope you figure it out man, that's alot of money for something to not work properly. I don't have anything scientifical to contribute besides pointing out that someone on the forum will have some insight when you get back. best of luck.
Hahaha that's ridiculous. Could you imagine walking out and having someone doing that to your stang? walking out of the store and some dude has a hose hooked to your ac line huffing it.
Very nice! I'm surprised to hear your brakes didn't have alot of fade on a course like road Atlanta. On my last outing my base 2 pot brakes with factory fluid made it to the fourth session before they were completely gone, and that was Autobahn country club in Joliet IL. If you do upgrade brake...
I am definitely going meth when I move over to Pro tune and E30 :clap2:
Plus then I can tell people 'oh hey, did you know my car is on meth?' and they'll be like 'oh dear, drugs are bad"
So reporting back. I was out and about sunday doing a few pulls. CHT's were anywhere between 180-208 and fluctuating seemily random within that range. The oil temp at worst went very slightly past the middle mark but never for more than 20 seconds. I track my car when I can so I'm hoping this...
