I just was curious everyone feels about the power delivery of the Voodoo?

I have had a lot of fast cars over the years (850HP/TQ twin turbo 05GTO) twin turbocharged C5 Vette, F80 M3 and this car is just impressive.

I have read A lot of comments on how this car lacks torque and needs to get wound up but in my experience with this car on every race I have done with this car especially from a roll the power delivery seems perfect.

When punched it does not blow the tires off from excess torque though it does start hazing them around 7k and if your opponent shifts he loses because we have an average of over 2k more rpm to use. I realize that in 6th gear and lugging the engine it really does not want to pull and some additional torque would be welcome but that's not what this car was really intended for.

Just saying this car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it! Ford did a amazing job with this engine and car! :ford:

I absolutely love the powerband, makes for a very satisfying car to wind out. Always great when a car just keeps pulling harder and harder the more you rev it out, knowing there is never any need or reason to short shift.

Never understood people's comments regarding a lack of low end torque. If you're trying to floor it below 3000 RPMs in 3rd or higher you're simply in the wrong gear. First and second rev out so quickly that the powerband comes on very fast and strong, and i personally think it pulls admirably from about 3500 onwards.

I am astounded by the power this motor puts down being naturally aspirated. The torque band is so broad and it consistently pulls like a freight train throughout. To me, it pulls like my supercharged GT500 did. On my first track day with the car I was astounded by the pull and just shook my head with a smile. To get this type of power without forced induction is beyond impressive to me.

Having owned my share of performance vehicles, the biggest difference with the GT350 and power delivery versus every other car IMO, is having to learn/relearn the power-band shift points. 95% of the world is trained to shift at 3-4k RPMs, it definitely took me a week or so to realize my max power was in the 7k range on the Shelby. It is truly a blast to drive, I haven't had this much fun in a sports car since my 99 Viper GTS and my last two cars were a 13 ZL1 Camaro and Supercharged C6 Z06.

Love the power, car would feel much faster if it was ~500 pounds lighter. This engine in a car that weighs 3200 pounds would be insane. I do feel a noticeable power bump at around 3-4k and a bit at 6krpm. I also feel like it's not super smooth, there are some sharp edges in the power delivery / throttle response that could be smoothed out with a tune I imagine. Or it's just because of the flat plane and the way it spins and handles its rotating mass.

I just came out of owning a 335i that was modified with some bolt ons. Put down loads of torque at 2k rpm (more than this car's peak for sure). This car "feels" faster on the top end, but the 335i power band was super impressive in a different way. Much more of an on / off switch, once you're in boost it doesn't matter if you're at 50% throttle or 75% throttle - same amount of (immense) power. The feeling of close to 500 ft lb of torque at under 3k rpm is also addictive, you can feel the whole car straining under its own torque. Something you don't feel in a high-revving car.

I love the power range of the 5.2 FPC though and the ability to modulate it with more or less throttle. Definitely the better option at the track, and much better soundtrack. In "normal" mode, it does feel a bit sluggish to me - I really have to give it more throttle to wake it up. "Sport" drive mode wakes up the throttle a lot for me, it almost feels like normal mode is running a different ignition map and sport mode is on-point.

I also owned a supercharged Z06 and that thing would spin in 3rd gear, acceleration was brutal and physically exhausting. Stripping the weight of this car down to sub 3k pounds would get close to that same aggressively relentless pulling I imagine, which would be fantastic.

I raced a 335i on the highway - definitely modified as well. I could not pull on him. He got the jump on me (note I started in 2nd gear at around 50mph so was right at peak torque), and I maybe pulled in a 1/4 car length but was still at his rear quarter panel when we let off. I believe he was auto since I didn't notice any weight transfer to indicate manual shifting. I consider myself a competent / fast shifter, I didn't fall back during shifts.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more videos of these things ending up in the trees because of people turning the nannies off and mashing it in turns... Or is everyone smart enough to leave them on aside from the one idiot at C&C!!! I use to do it in my '15 GT and the last time was the last time :frusty: I've driven many performance cars and can sling the GS through a corner like nobody's business but the rear of these Stangs will bite you in a heartbeat if you're not careful. All those videos of people going off the road in a straight line gets me every time. LET OFF ALREADY :headbonk:. I can tell you I'll never feel how hard this car pulls in 6th because frankly I want to make it back home to see my kids... You guys that track, do you turn everything off or just what track mode gives you?

Low end tq is what puts you in tree, aside from being a asshat:)

I leave it in track mode, there is some debate about how intrusive it is. I turn it off for AutoX and find first gear unusable unless going straight.

Letting it rip in 3rd @ 4000rpm makes me laugh out loud every time. At a time when most engines are almost done, this one is just getting started and pulls like a freight train all the way to 8400...

I tracked at Road Atlanta about a month ago and used 3rd the entire track except for the back straight where I went to 4th(was around 145mph at the top of hill leading down into turn 10A). I'm not an expert track guy by any means but I think that's the beauty of this motor, the endless rpm range makes getting it around the track easier. At least for me it does...

8400???? do you have a tune? Fuel cut-off is at 8250RPM.

Power feels good to me. Just sold my 620rwhp/534rwtq '15 GT convertible a few weeks ago and I don't miss anything about it. It's nice being able to floor it and hook, and actually not have to worry about if I'll spin when I want to get around someone's grandma on the road.

Enjoying this thing on a daily basis :)

on my last track day, I started with Track mode, but I felt sport mode to be a bit better for some reason... It does not interfere with me too much, and it seems to be slightly more compliant on bumps, but maybe it's just placebo effect .

So I personally don't disable all nannies, I am not that confident in it (yet).
