Hey guys name is Phil and I currently own a 950whp Challenger Hellcat. I am considering getting rid of the Cat and would love to get into another mustang (had a 2010 supercharged & 2013 Cali special FBO). I am looking to pickup a 2019/20 GT premium with the 10r80. My plans for the car would be to get to 900whp on e85 and im told by many this is easily doable. My current hellcat is setup for flex fuel which would be 800whp on 93 and 950whp on e85 (5 min pulley swap with no tune change).

My list of planned mods is as follows, please give your insight on what is/isnt needed or to add anything
Whipple supercharger
Id1050x injectors
Return style fuel system
Headers with o/r X
Oil pump gears / sprockets
Driveshaft
Axles
Eventually the trans clutches
Lund or PBD tuning

would just like to hear some insight from you guys here as ive been out of the mustang world for 4 years and i know these cars have advanced drastically. I was skimming through here and see i could be in the high 700’s on 93 which i would use for longer trips. Would i need to swap pulleys to run e85 and be at 900whp? Or does the flex fuel tuning accommodate that?

also im not dead set on the whipple if anyone has other blower recommendations and why. Turbos arent my thing so I will be staying away from those. Also do not want to use meth or NOS. Thanks in advance guys cant wait to get back into another mustang. Hellcat looks funny towed behind my 250 lol

If boosted I would only have a 93 tune and a E85 tune. I wouldn't push 93 past 700whp unless using octane booster or meth injection.

Whipple will get you to 900 all day on e85. If you plan on drag racing the car you'll see the clutches start slipping pretty soon on the 3-4 shift and slipping in 7th gear if you plan on making 900 or more.

Turbos are more fun though:crying:

All of the parts you mentioned would get you there easily. E85 specific tune is needed no flex fuel.

Awesome thats fine with me. Im fine with having an e85 pulley and tune then a 93 pulley and tune. Thats pretty much what I do with the hellcat even though its “flex fuel”. Just adds peace of mind for myself knowing a glitch in the computer wont cause it to overboost

700whp is fine for me on 93, to be honest 99% of the time it will be run on the e85 900hp setting. I just like having the option to run 93 if I decide to take a trip down the jersey shore or up to my house in Pennsylvania for the weekend. With my fiance and 80lb rottweiler itll be hard in a mustang anyway and probably wouldnt end up taking it lol.

the clutches are on the top of my list with all the other parts mentioned. Just wanna get it dialed in and tuned before pulling the trans open.

anyone have the right pulley to hit the 900+whp mark? Is 2.85 too much? I wanna stay 6 rib and use a griptech pulley as i see a few have success with that combo

The only thing I would add to the list is money for a built motor. 900whp with a blower on a stock motor is rolling the dice even with oil pump gears and crank sprocket. Not saying it can't last or that some people haven't had good luck with longevity but it is risky.

to be honest if i do all this in the spring I would be happy with getting the car through one season, then next winter build the shortblock

Question, if i did a built shortblock from L&M would the whipple be able to support 1200whp?

That would be the top of its range w/ bfo. If you want anything more, you'll need a 3.6+ Kenne Bell or Turbos. A F1a-94 will live up there just fine but it won't have the hit down low. Not a blower for a stock bottom end though unless you have a really good tuner.

You have the rights parts listed. Basically what I’m running.

I made 750whp exactly on a Mustang dyno on a 6th gear pull. 7th would’ve made 800ish but the clutches started slipping. On a dynojet that 850-870 or more.

I’m on a griptech 3.5, so a 3.25 would probably get you there.

My Parts List (converter, clutches and aluminum one piece driveshaft are sitting here waiting to go on)
  • Billet oil pump gears and crank sprocket
  • Whipple 3.0L stage 2 w/132mm TB / 3.5 griptech pulley
  • Texas Speed full length catless headers
  • Texas Speed xpipe
  • Fore Level 2 fuel system with dual 267’s and filters setup for e85
  • Injector Dynamics ID1050x port injectors.
  • NGauge programmer
  • E85 tune by Lund
  • DSS 1400HP halfshafts
  • BMR Cradle Bushing Lockout Kit
  • BMR Poly Differential Bushings
  • BMR Rear Lower Control Arm Bearings
  • BMR Double Adjustable Rear Toe Rods
  • BMR Delrin Billet Vertical Links
  • BMR Differential Hardware Upgrade Kit
  • BMR upper shock mounts
  • BMR Driveshaft safety loop
  • Steeda progressive 1.25/1” drop Springs
  • Viking Warrior adjustable drag shocks
  • UPR Whipple Catch Can
  • PP2 front Brembo rotors and calipers
  • SVE S350 - 19x10/19x11 wheels
  • Toyo R888R - 285/35R19 325/30R19 tires
  • 18/19 GT premium 12” digital dash

If your serious about 900hp+ on e85. I would recommend a triple pump system.

I would say it depends on how much he wants to grow. Dual 267’s as in my case, support up to 900lph and that’s good for 1300-1400ish hp. If he’s looking to build a shortblock and shoot for the moon, definitely get a triple now vice upgrading later.

Tell me more about your fuel system please.
Looking at Fore Innovations website, there are lots of options for any given system they offer.

Thank you !

Check out the write up on our 2018 A10 with a Whipple. It is now ~ 1100hp with a stock block and has run 8's in the 1/4 mile. Full mod lists are listed. For fueling, we went with ID1300x & our Lethal triple pump system. Please message me if you have any questions.
