Thanks! It will be staying relatively stock until warranty is gone. Considering this is my first Ford, how are the dealers regarding warranty work and modifications on the car? Really only looking to do exhaust at this point but I've heard horror stories of dealerships (of any brand) threatening to revoke the warranty due to mods.

Lets hope the MT-82 in these does better than the last generation :D
It depends on your relationship with the dealer. The coyote is a pretty rock solid platform, I plan to mod right away.

Quite true, my GM dealer didn't really care about the stuff I had done.

Main reason why I looked into the platform. In due time it will receive more but the initial budget allows for an exhaust at this time.

Okay ya'll are just greedy. You couldn't even own a new car with this much power unless you were filthy rich a decade ago. Additionally, if you want to chime in and think the same, tell me what car you previously came from????

I get the impression people think the more jarring and louder the car is determines the car's powerfulness.

Here is what I mean...If you had two roller coasters side-by-side and the only difference was one was a wooden roller coaster and the other was a newer design you would feel unimpressed of the newer roller coaster because it was smooth and didn't jiggle you around in the seat. Both going the same speed, same turns, and all...I put money down people would think the wooden roller coaster is faster and more impressive and the newer roller coaster would feel slow when in fact they were all the same speed.

To me that is refinement and IMO refinement is not something to be unimpressed about
Nope, nothing to do with lack of refinement in my last vehicle. I came from a fbo 135i. Was putting down 406/460 to the wheels and weighed about 300-400lbs less than the GT. Then factor in my elevation (3600ft) and the fact turbo engines lose less power than NA at elevation.

My GT has a fair bit less punch. Maybe not fair to compare modded to stock, but so is life.

BMW's feel faster than they are... Just IMO.

I see what you mean. At elevation the 135 with the output you mention modded will feel faster for sure - more torque, similar power to wt (perhaps even in favor of the 135) and lastly, the turbo spool which creates a more concentrated power delivery (as opposed to the 5.0 which has power linearly build up). It (135 modded at elevation) may actually have a quicker 0-60 as well.

I was dead set on a lightly used 135i until things got out of hand and I started looking into 5.0s.

If this is your first Ford, it won't be your last. However, I've had my last share of Chevy/Dodge. Enjoy your Mustang!

I'm pretty young but have been extremely impressed with what ford has been doing recently in their product line and others aspects. Thanks!

Considering most 5.0s are dynoing stock in the 370-380 (dynojet) range, the 135i @ 406 (also dynojet) is a reasonable bit more hp. Combined with the lighter weight, for sure the power to weight was in favor of the 135.

And then throw the altitude into the mix

Of course comparing dyno numbers is futile. Even if we call the hp a wash, for sure the 135i had more torque. That thing was just a rocket from a 3rd gear roll.

This said, I do love my GT - need the canadian dollar to recover a bit so I can look at a supercharger for the GT.

They are a great car and it is silly the power you can make for $1500.

But, parts are very expensive. My a/c evaporator was leaking - 8 hours labor just to get to it. And the water pumps are known to just fail. Literally leaving you stranded.

Was time for a change.

Ok - some of you people seriously get worked up a little bit too much about your cars.

Thanks for those who actually had constructive comments. The car felt much better today, especially in sport mode.

I'm not a brand fan boy like most here. If its a fun car and has what I want, I'll get it regardless of brand. With that being said, a deposit has been placed and pending the sale of my car next Tuesday its mine.
Excellent! Congrats on the pending purchase. Sometimes it's difficult to get "tone" from a written statement, so miscommunication can happen.

I remember test driving a Focus ST and it seemed quick to me. Then I looked up the performance specs and was surprised that it wasn't really that fast. So seat of the pants can be deceptive at times.

Indeed, text can be interpreted many ways. Thanks, I have about four pending buyers for my car if the guy drops out so regardless this should be happening next week.

Long day. Sold my Cobalt SS for a price I was reasonably happy with and got into my new 2015 Mustang. I'll make a thread tomorrow for it and post the link here. Thanks again for all who helped, car feels far healthier than when I originally drove it. I believe she just needed some miles out on her.
