I'm at 11.5 right now - I haven't done too much highway - 350miles on the clock. I get 47mpg (highway) on my 13 mazda 3, those days are gone.

I'm hoping this will go slightly up as I put more miles on the engine.
Wow, that's shockingly bad. When are you shifting? Skip shifting is both easy to do and necessary to get decent fuel economy in this car. I drive reasonably aggressive with a 50/50 city/highway commute and struggle to get it below 20.

How fast do you drive on the highway?

I don't skip gears, I will try that. I'm not sure where I shift, I will start paying attention, basically I shift when I feel the engine free up a bit. Probably between 2-3

Usually around 75 mph on the freeway. My recent trip to Chicago netted me 28 mpg. My the majority of my daily commute puts me at around 45-50 mph, with a handful of stoplights. When not out having fun, I usually shift between 2000-3000 rpm and often straight from 1 to 3, then 3 to 5/6. This commute gets me around 23 mpg so far. Since you have a PP car, you should have no trouble starting in 2nd gear, going to 4th then 6th. It's definitely possible to get decent fuel economy. BTW I have the 3.31 axle ratio. Your car has the 3.73, so you're going to be at a 2-3 mpg deficit on the highway right away.

I have very limited experience with these cars -- the test drive I took the night I placed my order was very encouraging though -- we were in a loaded premium with PP. We switched to real time mpg on the freeway, and I short shifted 5 (went directly from 4 to 6) and at 60 was seeing 33mpg. Taking the off ramp and stopping at a light, the mpg dropped to about 29 standing still. Driven carefully, I'm confident you can achieve ecoboost numbers with a GT PP...

Wow. I struggle to get mine over 18 without driving aggressively… and I skip shift and upshift around 2000-3000 rpm most times.

I skipped gears and got it up to 17. 2nd works better than first, it's great.

I can manage 17mpg, 11 was harsh.

Edit: just like Sc00ter 17 is while driving very carefully. shifting around 2k - with just enough throttle to accelerate slowly

I'm getting 12 mpg.......90% hwy driving less then 500 miles on the car, 6 speed mods that should improve fuel economy. I have a 2015 suburban which is gigantic and drive it hard and get 15.8 mpg.....I'm hoping once the stand is broken in ill be above 15 mpg in the city.

Everytime I see bad gas mileage it's a 99% chance you live in florida. 90mph on the HWY won't help your mileage. Lol

I'm so very glad I'm not the only one.

It seems like the guys below 20mpg might have driven it....less easy.. during the first few hundred miles.

Is this our punishment? Or maybe we get less fuel mileage because we also get more POWER :D

In 100k miles though we might have half the hp those other guys have.... :)

GTPP here 4000+ miles on odo, Easter road trip 400 miles one way, averaged 26 mpg with cruise set to 71mph speed limit was 65 mph! If you drive the gtpp really light but embarrassing you might be able to get 18 19+ mpg in the city but it requires intense dedication, humiliation and crap from other drivers! You will be pretty much driving on the right lane starting with 2nd gear then before 1800 rpm shifting to 4th then above 30mph 5th and above 42 mph 6th gear. You will be slower than 90% of the cars on the road but hey you know you can smoke them anytime you want!

How fast are you going on the highway? I'm average around 15 mpg overall, but that's dragged down by the city miles... on the highway (at a steady 55-60 mph) I'm getting 27-28. City's normally down around 5-10 mpg.

After the installation of my exhaust, it's hard not to give it a little extra to hear it! I'm averaging around 15.8 but when I take it easy, I can manage 18ish. More city driving than highway

Had an interesting experience this morning. I have 2100 miles on my GT now. I drive mostly highway to work. Several times I've filled up on the way to work and get (when I'm not playing around) 22-23.5mpg on the Avg reading. Happens consistently enough that I'm pretty sure that's a good reading. (Avg on Trip 2 with 1600 miles is 21.1)

So this morning I fill up with 91 Octane NonOygenated fuel just to see. Put in 14 gallons. The difference in throttle response was instantly noticeable. Quick and "strong". Weird and tough to describe. So, I get to work and happen to look down. On the average MPG for that 34 miles or so was 28.0mpg!! I've never seen a number above 24 for any type of driving I've done. Literally took a double take.

Very interested to see how this tank proceeds.

I've also noticed a difference in throttle response and power delivery on 93 vs. 87. It's not so much that I feel the difference in peak power (which is minimal), it's that at mid loads it builds smoother. That makes sense, since it can increase timing due to less knock propensity. So far I've had two tanks on 87, and 1.5 on 93 (current one). I've also noticed a 1-1.5 mpg improvement on 93.
