I ran a few tanks (93 octane) through it on my way home today. It didn't do to bad.

I'm averaging about 17.5 over the first 1200 miles.

Some gas stations yield better gas mileage than others as well. I remember I used to fill up at a Hess near my house, the gas would go like water vs a chevron or amoco (back then) which would yield me an additional 30-40 miles more per fill. This was all highway driving, same pattern and actually trying to save gas in a civic.

I have confirmed that today as well. In my current SUV, I fill up Chevron all the time and get 410-430 a fill 90% highway 10% city. When I fill up at Racetrack or some weird gas station, even a shell by my job, I get about 370-390 per fill. This has been the case for the 3 years I have been driving down the same highway with the same car.

Extremely painful drive, not going over 60mph using Chevron 93. This is a one way trip, the only way to get a average is to do the same going the opposite direction. I would guess the average would be 27 mpg.

Hmm...that's interesting. Do you know if there is a good list of what's considered the best yield gas stations?

What? That is with PP? They were not joking when it was said real world mileage would be better. Most of my commute is 60-65mph, my hopes are increasing!

Now you know this is taking off like granny and then letting granny pass me. Also this is pretty flat stretch minimum inclines. I will allow myself one 90 mph punch daily then back off. By doing this my average for the week goes to 22 mpg.

Yes but that is also with 3.73 gears. In my normal drive it is steady speed, no pp so I should be able to get 21-22 average which is the same as my current 170hp car that is a lot lighter. That is pretty impressive.

Really not getting the car to drag race WRX's or anything, getting it because it is what I have always wanted, have earned and saved for it. And most of all because my wife agreed. :)

Chris

Edit: oh damn, read the whole thread and realized that I checked Ruby305's sig. No PP but still great mileage being over 25 like that.
