Not everyone resets the trip on a fillup...
right but I would like to see how many miles you can get to a tank. With a 16gal take and EPA MPG at 15/25 in theory you should be getting 240/400mi to a tank.

It sounds like he is resetting the MPG display once he is on the freeway, running 60 on cruise - and then reporting the highest number he sees?

I also have an auto GT with 3.55s. Mine is just under 500 miles, and the best I have seen is about 21.5 at any single point (I reset every fill up), and my best full tank was 19.8. I have only run 2 full tanks though. That is with a mix of city/freeway and commute traffic.

I think, if I were to fill up and get right on the freeway, I could get up to 24 or 25 cruising at 70, and maybe 28 or 29 at 60
This has me thinking, with all the folks with 3.55 quoting 27-30MPG, my assumption was that 3.15 will always net better MPG than 3.55 when in a steady speed at top gear, is that a false assumption? With more gear, do you have to push less hard on the gas pedal lowering mileage even at higher RPM?

Edit: Clarification, 27-30MPG at steady highway speed of 60-70MPH

im not misleading anything....Tell me how you cant get 30.5mpg in 6 miles other than the fact that it doesnt add up? If I drove that 6 mile route 5 times I should roughly get 30mpg...Before you bash me read my previous posts in here. I never claimed the car gets 30mpg, I simply stated what the readout said during my short commute.
You should try that out...Suggest you have a can of gas in the trunk or # for a tow truck.

Try something better. Have exactly one gallon of gas in your tank and let me know when you reach the distance of 30.5 miles. Let me know when you do so I can wave during the drive by.

1st tank, averaged 20 mpg on EcoBoost. New car syndrome. Heavy foot. Always in sport plus mode. Not too shabby still.

The guy who drove the GT PP that was at all the "Mustang Bucket List" events told me the GT averaged 27 mpg on 95 south from New York to Annapolis MD.

The EB got around 34 the same trip he said.

I literally took delivery yesterday and the vehicle had only 3 miles on the Odometer when I started on the journey home. Not to sound pessimistic but it seems like 27 MPG straight line driving might be a stretch, especially on 95 from NY to Annapolis! Hell, you have to go thru Jersey which would be stop and go traffic, let alone when you hit Baltimore!

Depends on time of day/night. I've been easily from DC to Philly without a hitch of traffic at night.

Don't forget you're not broken in yet. Also, what speed were you going? Seems the GT gets it's best MPG in the high 60s low 70s on the highway.

We have plenty of posts from GT's owners getting 26-27 on the highway and some even higher.

So I've put about 300 miles on since Thursday, and I'm right around 21MPG mixed highway and stop and go.

Mine's sitting around 19.8 right now. That includes lots of city driving and some extended idling. My 2011 used to typically show around 19 on the gage with my driving style. A little lower in the summer and a little higher in the winter when I have to go lighter on the throttle.
