I asked the same thing earlier today, and BE6Pony advised

"Its the lower and upper intake mani, the part the plastic goes to is what gets ported not the plastic"

I assume there's metal intake ports that are widened/extruded to allow for more air.

In a nutshell you are basically cleaning up any protrusions, imperfections, abrupt bends in the runners and plenum. This maximizes airflow which increases hp/tq due to a smoother intake tract. This is a great mod for both for turbo and especially n/a cars where your goal is to optimize what you have since you do not have the luxury of turning up boost. Ported intakes pair nicely with a set of hot cams.

I've actually got them done on my 2015 v6 and it really helps with all my supporting mods

How involved is it to removed both sections?
Did you use a Dremel or take it to a shop?
Pics?

Didn't even think to check YouTube, I searched the forums and couldn't find anything. It does look like porting the manifold will open it up for quite a bit more air and can be done in the garage with a dremel.

How's the pedalmax on a manual transmission? Sorry off topic but I saw your mod list so I just had to ask?

It actually is the plastic that gets dremeled away. The upper intake gets the silencing ridges removed and the TB port opened a bit. The lower gets the bunges around the injectors cleaned up and smoothed over while the ports leading into the head get opened up quite a bit.

Peak gains have been shown to be 15-20 rwhp with gains through the curve a bit higher at 20-25 rwhp.

A guy on the cyclone facebook group does it for about $300 I believe. Other than a tune it is the best bang for the buck mod for the cyclones.

It's a must have addition. Wakes the throttle response right up and now the car feels like it should have from the factory.

Thanks for the detailed information Superblur :)
