I just had my PP2 and tune done at a dealer on 6/14. Does this mean I got the updated tune? I have an automatic and it seems to be running great so far! I'd like to avoid updating if nothing to be gained.

Yes Yes Yes!!!!!!!!!
Just loaded the updated tune for FP power pack 2. No more rev hang! Good job for all the folks pestering FP to fix the tune and good job for FP fixing it. The original tune was loaded by the the shop that installed my PP 2, so I had to call FP and have them reset my voucher code so that I could re-register under my own account. Once I did that I was able to download the Procal tool and load the new tune in the car. Very happy now!
^This^ I couldn't be happier with the new tune!

I installed my PP2 myself, simply b/c I did not want to deal with having to bring my own laptop to the dealer, then maybe they don't want to use it b/c "they can't guarantee my laptop works correctly" or anything like that. I also wanted to make sure I retained the download voucher number, the flash tool, etc. I'm not a trusting soul...can you tell? :ninja:

I downloaded my tune just a few days ago, the day after it was posted in the PP thread that the updated/new tune was available. Though the file name of my tune doesn't look similar to anyone else's, I do believe I received the "new tune".

At first, I had some rev hang, especially when cold and engine braking was pretty severe. The power was definitely there, however.

After about 100 miles, all problems have disappeared. Though all the GTs are "the same" mechanically (PP and non-PP, respectively) all GTs are different, I believe. Additionally, I'm on 93 octane...that's what Premium is where I live. There is no 91. So maybe that contributed too?

Some folks loaded up the tune and were good to go off the bat. Others, like me, had these issues. I was a bit concerned at first that I didn't get the new tune. But, as I stated, after about 100 miles or so all the problems have disappeared. Everything works as it did before. No CELs, no weird behavior or sounds, just more power.

The car sounds absolutely badass IMO: 6-speed GT + PP2 + Borla Touring catback = VROOOOM! I couldn't be happier with the PP2!

A bit off topic, but I'm laughing at how similar your mods are to mine! I have a 2015 with PP2 just installed, FRPP Borla touring exhaust, JL Stealthbox with 600 watt JL Amp, FP Strut tower brace, and JLT oil separator. Where did you put the amp? Mine is under the drivers seat.

I'm curious - how many people installed themselves and how many had the dealer do it?

My dealer quoted near $1400 installed for the PP2 (full list for the kit, 3-4hrs to install).

Installed it myself in a couple of hours, well after I took the damn sound tube off. Dealer quoted me a little over $400.00 here in California.

We have the exact same mods. What do you think about the cabin noise from the borla pp2 combo?

I installed mine and 96MUSTANG06 's kit. The first time around took us a couple hours. The second time around only was a little
over an hour. I have another friend that's looking to get it and by that time I'm sure it'll be about an hour or so. The Revised tune
was loaded up in about a minute.

Total investment on my end was probably about $575. $570 for the kit and about $5 for the dorman connector and some fuel hose.

I had someone do bit to get warranty coverage, has to be ASE certified Dealer quoted me $300-$500. I had a local speed shop do it. $200.

One dealer quoted me an estimated 2 hours of shop time but he wasn't sure how long it would actually take.

Another dealer quoted me 6 hours. I think he may have mistaken it for the power pack 3 kit...

Neither of these two dealerships claimed they had any experience installing any of these power packs. I find that hard to believe since there are S550's all over this town. Maybe I just haven't spoken to the right person yet. Both dealerships were FRPP certified shops. The 6 hour guy was supposed to be their Performance Parts service rep.

I asked FRPP if they had an estimate or flat rate time for the install. He said they don't issue a flat rate time for the install, but that the dealer could use the flat rates for replacing the individual components of the kit as an estimate.

I am looking into having a local ASE certified speed shop do it for me. I'm expecting it will come in for 2 hours or less. He even said he would text me if he gets an opening that I could slip into. Sounds like he doesn't expect it to take very long. They have done countless CAI installs and tunes. So even if they haven't dealt with this exact kit, I'd prefer to have a dedicated speed shop guy with decades of experience and reputation doing the work rather than risk having a random chump tech at the dealer get assigned and then trying to figure out what to do with my car...

I can't believe the prices these places are charging. My dealer is a Roush shop and said mine was the first PP2 they did, but only charged me $270.

Hi, where did you get the kit for $570? Levittown wants $650 shipped from me. Thanks!

Picked up my car last night after having the PP2 installed. It's a bit early for a full review, but here are some first impressions...

(2016 GT Premium M6, 3.55)
Fantastic! Many of the irritating quirks of the factory calibration are gone. I had previously wished there was a way to set the default driving mode to Sport+, and the PP2 takes care of a that (at least so far as the throttle mapping) since the new "normal" mode isn't as reserved below 4,000rpm as the stock calibration was.

The extra torque is very noticeable and really helps it climb out of the low rpms. And the throttle mapping is much smoother over the rpm range so that burst of power at 4,000rpm, just a split second before I push in the clutch to up-shift, is now gone. That really bugged me since it would "sprint" forward and then immediately fall back when the clutch disengaged. Not quite whiplash, but everyone in the car feels it and it was a bit embarrassing since it felt like pilot error (who punches the throttle as they push in the clutch?)

I didn't have any of the typical errors or problems. Perhaps the shop noticed them and worked them out before I came to pick it up. But no crankshaft error or any other engine codes. No rev hang. No need to clock 100 miles before it settles in. Although, if it continues to improve over the next 100 miles, I don't think they'll ever get the smile off my face.

Overall... I'm very pleased and looking forward to getting to know the car all over again.

*** Update *** YES! YES! YES! Having clocked some miles it is just getting better. The car finally behaves and drives like a Mustang! My wife says it's like my car went through puberty (a polite way of saying it's balls have dropped). 110% recommend the PP2. In fact, it should be mandatory. Between the PP2 and the Steeda clutch "helper" spring all of my driveability issues / complaints have been solved. Absolute perfection!

I got mine on a pre-buy from Ford Performance parts here on the forum.

After getting it, it sat in my garage for about 6 months.
