In a video i watched by Mens Health about the new Mustang, Ford Engineering manager at 2:29 talked about the new power levels and his response leads me to believe it will be a good bump in power.

I have been saying this since day one. 470-500 HP. Remember Rex said it here.In a video i watched by Mens Health about the new Mustang, Ford Engineering manager at 2:29 talked about the new power levels and his response leads me to believe it will be a good bump in power.

Ford's Tom Barnes Vehicle Engineering Manager says "changed the intake system because the key is to get air into the system..." then he links it to raised hp, tq & rpm. Good catch! Doesn't sound like a small bump at all. I also noticed how the spokesman reacted when asked if the Coyote would be over 500 horsepower. It sounded like he started to say not on this car/generation and we'll see. Perhaps the S650 will see greater than 500 horsepower. :clap2:In a video i watched by Mens Health about the new Mustang, Ford Engineering manager at 2:29 talked about the new power levels and his response leads me to believe it will be a good bump in power.
Since the information center had the numbers 455 and 470 hidden it, that has been the rumor since day one, so I wouldn't say you were the first or only person to guess 470.I have been saying this since day one. 470-500 HP. Remember Rex said it here.

Just noticed he said at 4:02, 0-60 in 4 sec range. So it's not getting too much or would drop into 3s. GT is 4.3 now, right? Camaro SS 4.0?In a video i watched by Mens Health about the new Mustang, Ford Engineering manager at 2:29 talked about the new power levels and his response leads me to believe it will be a good bump in power.
Which is why I'm hoping for at least 470/430.. that may even things out.I keep reading "455hp to keep up with (or beat) the Camaro."
You guys do realize that the Camaro is lighter, right?
Been saying it since day one. ;)Just tried two random online 0-60 calculators.
To get 0-60 in 4.3sec with 435hp both required the same 3,863lb input.
Both calculators claim 479hp puts 3,863lb at 4.0.
Of course, I'm sure someone can find a better method of calculating.
So between 457 to 479
Anything less, they sandbagged DI & CR (*MIT PhD thesis previously sourced could be wrong)
Anything more, it's dropping into 3sec 0-60 range (*Ford guy in video could be wrong)
The 10-speed auto by itself can drop that 0-60mph time by 0.2-0.3 seconds to approx. 4.0 secs flat.Just tried two random online 0-60 calculators.

Lol at douche bag comment:lol:It definitely sounded like in the video when the douche bag in the hat asked about 500HP that the Ford guy wanted to say either "not in the GT" or "not yet"
No I believe that the gt is in the 4.5 to 4.6 range currently. If it got to a sub 4.2 run that would be nice.Just noticed he said at 4:02, 0-60 in 4 sec range. So it's not getting too much or would drop into 3s. GT is 4.3 now, right? Camaro SS 4.0?
I'm sure someone could figureout how much hp needed for 4.0. That would give upperend range of power.
