I bought a 2019 Bullit which was in pour cosmetic shape. It had evidently sat outside for most of it's life, and I have been spending an inordinate amount of time just on paint touch up, and exterior and interior cleaning. I want to change out the plastic cowl cover which sits just under the windshield wiper arms, and abuts the lower edge of the windshield, since it is very chalky looking. I have a new one on order, and was trying to remove the old one. After removing the windshield wiper arms and the plastic push pins, it is free to come off except along the windshield. It seems to be glued in place, or even has a lip extending under the edge of the windshield. I have not gotten too forceful with it yet, but it seems to be stuck in place really well. Anyone here know what holds the top edge of this piece in place?

Some sort of windshield adhesive? Or maybe silicone?

I'd think it would be a lot easier to just dress it and make it look new, rather than try and replace it.

OP I agree with @KingKona, definitely try some back to black solution on the plastic cowl a few times before you go through all the trouble of replacing it. The car isn't exactly old, some back to black solution should definitely help it.

Have you tried any products to restore the black so it isn't chalky?

One of the best things to use is Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat restoration kit. I am pretty positive that will address your issue and also keep it looking good for quite a while. I bet you will be very happy with it after your done.

On my 2015 you just have to use a bit of force and free the edges. The sides of it hook into the body kind of. The documents sent above show what I am talking about.

I truly appreciate the input, it now has me thinking about the options. A good detail/renewal product would be a good alternative.
