Anyone know the part # for the push pin thingies that hold down the cowl cover? Dropped one and never found it - stuck in the engine bay somewhere.

Looks like HM2 on this page W706815 appears to be 4 in a package. Order online choosing Crossroads Ford and either ship to you or pick up at Crossroads in Cary.

Thanks, but that’s not them. The cowl pins are the ones where the center pulls up before you can get them out.

I think it’s HM1 actually according to the cowl diagram, but when I search for HM1 nothing comes up.

There’s a bunch on Amazon and other sites - I just gotta do a little more digging. Just thought maybe someone might know offhand.

W718365.

Looks like they are in stock at Crossroads in Cary. $5.76 msrp or $4.90 for 4 pins if you order online with Crossroads as your preferred dealer. I believe the parts dept is open limited hours on Saturdays.

FYI the new Fordparts.com site is pretty slow in some ways and better in other ways than the previous version but it does work if you have time and persistence. "registering" and signing in helps a lot. It was not too bad for me to find what hopefully are what you are looking for because I was searching for and ordering some other pins for my car last night and that acquainted me with where to look for the cowl pins.

Also, how is the 10 speed shifting? We just got back from a 3700 mile highway, around town, and autocross trip and the trans behaved fine in all conditions. However, just before leaving I installed a new front anti-roll bar and later found out that I hadn't properly installed the air filter cover (the tabs on the front of the cover weren't engaged). Before leaving and until 1/3 of the way through the trip the idle became a bit slow and uneven and the shifting MAY have been a little less response. When I saw my error and properly installed the cover everything was back to normal immediately.

Thanks guys. I was in bed on my phone when I posted - Fordparts.com mobile site isn't very good. Much easier on full computer.

Also, how is the 10 speed shifting?

I'll post an update at some point in the relevant thread, but short answer is better - I think it's combination adaptive learning and driver learning. :D
