Phone App to Replace Fob

Currently own the 17 GT350 and a 15 Escape. Both have keyless start and I’d sure like to use a phone app in lieu of carrying the fobs. I didn’t find anything in a forum search but Google showed conflicting info on whether or not the FordPass app can do it. Can anyone enlighten me?

I don’t think you can get that in a manual transition. My 2017 Raptor has it, but when I looked for it on my 2019 GT350 I also couldn’t find it.

Yeah, you can only lock and unlock the car with app (2019). You can’t start it.

Great for keeping the truck on with the dogs in the cab when the wife and I go to eat when we're on a trip. You can also use Alexa to remote start it. Those are nifty.

Useless for a GT350, tho.

Yeah I find it as useless. FYI- I have been following you on YouTube. For some reason I thought you were older. I only mention that because your post reflect an older and wiser person. This is not meant as a slam, I just find that anyone under 40 seems like an idiot these days. But then again there are also a bunch of old dumb a55es out there.

Two issues on remote start: First, an MT car won't start without someone depressing the clutch pedal, so remote start is out. Keeps your car from driving into something if you leave it in gear. Second, the car has to have an LTE modem for the app to work. I think those started somewhere in the 17 or 18 MY.

And yes, I agree the app is pretty useless.
