Performance Pack - Yes or No ?

I am going to order a new 2016 mustang gt when the order banks open. I have a friend who has a 2015 GT with the performance pack and the first thing he did when getting the car was to lower it using steeda sport springs, replaced the front and rear sway bars, added the gtrack brace, and some other assorted steeda suspension parts. He also replaced the PP rims with 20x10 wheels. My question is this. When I order my new mustang, if I intend add the same suspension mods and new rims/tires am I wasting my money getting the performance pack ? since I will be replacing most of the components that come with it. I figure I could use the money saved not getting the performance pack to upgrade to recaro seats and use the rest for my suspension mods. I am interested in what you all think. Thanks.

A definite yes. I bought a base w/o it and after having some seat time in one recently, I regret not getting it. Get it for the brakes, chassis bracing and diff alone. If you care about handling, 20" wheels aren't going to be the best, but I will concede that they look great. Also, in 2016 you'll have the choice of the black PP wheels or nickel silver. I would get the PP and determine for yourself what you want to mod. I was blown away by how good it is stock.

I'm wondering, too, and the brake upgrade is the one big hitch. Probably it's available separately but I'm not close enough to buying to check into it yet.

I'm still debating the poor options combos Ford comes up with and the lack of a HUD (and anything like the "Performance Data Recorder"), whether the Mustang is quite what I want or is there an alternative that better caters to options choices. I would say on the Mercedes line that options are a lot less "mutually exclusive", and I'm disappointed Ford insists on pushing their preferences on the buyer.

As someone else mentioned, the brakes alone are worth it. Not to mention some of the upgraded cooling components and already installed 3.73's. If it were me, I'd get the PP and sell the stock suspension and put it towards aftermarket.

The PP adds a torsen LSD as well which I don't think was mentioned. That would be a good chunk of money on its own. I ended up with the ecoboost PP after driving the base V6 and the PP ecoboost back to back. The PP is what sold me on the car I got. Not sure how it relates to the GT but a 5 mile test drive was enough to sell me.

Test drove a non PP GT, and that's all it took. PP or nothing...

Those PP brakes... No where on earth can you get 15" 6 piston brembos for a better price. The rest of the stuff is just free after the brakes.

Agree with the rest, the brembo's are worth it alone. I changed wheels and springs as well, but it's worth getting the PP.

YES!! I dont have them on my ecoboost and wish I did! The brakes alone cover the costs!
