I've gone through my budgeting, and I can afford a GT premium if I just cut away about 70% of my fun money every month. I have never driven a RWD car before, and the highest HP car I have owned is an AWD a4 with 170 hp. Will I miss the small extra fun factor of the 5.0 if I were to get an EB premium? Fastest thing I have ever been in was a 2010 camaro SS. Or should I still get the GT?(less fun money is probably a good thing haha)

I don't really plan on modding the car much for the warranty period, and after that I probably won't do it either if I am honest. I've had the A4 for 3 years now, and when I bought it I made all these plans to mod stuff, and I never did lol.

Oh boy, there are a TON of threads with this being discussed.

Can you live w/out the Premium features and do a Base GT? Best bang for the buck out there right now.

I don't think you'll be disappointed in the EB at all, plenty of support to mod it down the road if you want some extra power and there are a lot of guys here who have gone from past GT's to EB's and no ragrets...

Have you driven both cars? Getting an EB (almost) doubles the horsepower that you are used to. IMHO that would be plenty of fun! Only you can decide the fun factor vs. the cost factor. Personally, if getting the 5.0 takes the majority of your discretionary income compared to the EB, the EB would be a no brainer for me. I love the 300Hp of my V6.
Drive the EB and see how it feels.

Most of the threads about this seemed kind of old, and the people buying seemed to already have owned high performance cars! And I could do the base GT. But I do drive an audi right now, I am used to the leather interior and heated seats haha. I kind of wanted the premium trim for the heated/cooled seats, leather, and drive modes. I am REALLY leaning towards the gt. Oh I remembered now, does the EB have as much wheel hop as the GT? Every video I see of the GT, anytime someone hits the gas theres a ton of wheel hop.

Man, that's very true. But I just WANT the 435 horses under the hood. Whole reason for a muscle car lol. And I have not driven either car yet, I work 60 hours a week(thus why my fun money doesn't really matter, its all spent on video games and fast food lol) so I have not had a chance to go test drive anything. I am not just looking at mustangs, but god are they attractive.

I see and didn't think about going from an Audi to a base. Even though the Base interior is still nice you'll miss some of those creature comforts.

I'm sure some used ones are starting to pop up, maybe you can find a nice used Premium GT with less than 10k miles for a good price?

As much as I want to tell you to get the EB and be more fiscally responsible you only live once so.....

I m coming from an a4. I got the premium ecoboost mostly because it was at the top of my budget. The premium was more important to me than the base 5.0. I got a tune from a reputable tuner and he car performs awesome. Without the tune I was content with the performance but with the tune I love it. I still plan that my next one will be a gt.

I have the Ecoboost. For a Daily Driver, it has PLENTY of power. Down the road, after the warranty is up, you can tune for an incredible boost of Power and Torque.

The aftermarket for the Mustang is an Elephant vs Ant compared to the aftermarket for the A4.

Yeah, I'm the same way on the premium. I'm going to be driving it to work 80% of the year. With the EB, do you notice any sort of wheel hop when you accelerate quickly?

When I got a Ford Fusion as a rental, the wheel hop on that was so bad. I've tested the 0-60 on the Ecoboost at least 5 times, and no wheel hop, just wheel spin when brake boosting over 2500 rpm.

With that kind of Mentality thinking, Ford would have asked for a handout from the government to prevent going bankrupt, just like GM. They bought in the ecoboost to expand their market, specially overseas. I'm predicting the ecoboost will sell more than the GT by next year or the following year.

Only you can decide of course. I was coming from the GTI 2.0T, which I still have but was looking for something different and only the GT would do. Warning though, once you drive the GT you may be hooked. The financial side of me says never stretch yourself too thin for a car or any depreciating asset. But I'm boring like that ...lol

I was like you and drove a 200hp car. My V6 feels like a rocket to me, but I haven't driven the V8. If money is important to you, I'd test drive the EB first and if it's fun get it. Otherwise if you drive the GT you might be stuck with it.

Guys. I love how everyone is basically telling me exactly how I feel already. "You will want the GT but do what you have money for." Man... I'll have to drive them and see I guess. I'm excited either way. I'll probably end up getting the GT and giving up buying a new video game every other week tbh.
