32k for a GTPP. nothing out there can even come close to matching that bang for buck.

well next year a 2016 camaro 1SS may be close, for a grand or two more.

Not really, I enjoy the entertaining infighting on the forum which is what always happens. People are going to tell you what they bought is the best option all day so there is no point.

I would seriously entertain the base GT with PP. The base interior is very nice and comes with many features your Audi doesn't have. The cloth seats are actually fantastic. I came from leather and I don't miss them one bit. These hold you in better, are just as comfortable, and don't get too hot or too cold (so you don't need them to be heated). I'm very, very happy with how comfortable the seats are on long drives.

I have a base GT w/o the PP. If I had to do it over again I would have gotten the PP, as I autocross my car and might take it to a track once a year. If it's just about going fast in a straight line and comfort for you, don't bother with it...save the money and get better FE as a bonus.

Drive them both (both GTs) and see which is right for you. The PP ride is a bit firmer, but by no means harsh. It sounds like you want the GT. It's a wonderful engine and won't be around forever. The EB with the PP is a fantastic package too, but from your comments it sounds like you've really made up your mind on the engine.

I will never autocross or go to a track and all that. At best I will have some fun around the normal streets around me. I don't like to put others in danger, so nothing crazy. I'm actually thinking about the base GT now. Compromise between the two.

Not saying you in particular...just saying in general:

You can actually be safer on a track with the correct safety gear and understanding of the limits of your vehicle than having too much fun on the streets at the expense of yourself or other drivers/pedestrians.

Yeah, I don't like it when people go too crazy on the streets. At best I do some semi hard turns on/off highway ramps, and some short pulls on the highway. Fun enough for me, I had a friend who would take his STI and basically race around gravel roads. Not safe what so ever.

You're on the right track, you're talking about test driving the various alternatives and basing much of your decision upon that. It's the only way to narrow down the choices - Premium versus Base, GT versus V6 versus EcoBoost, etc. Personally, my opinion is that your right foot is your "drive modes". And the base comes with the steering options already. So no sacrifice in going for base versus Premium there. For me, the big question was: do I want leather seats? Do I want satellite radio? Do I want all the other things that Premium brings to the table (some of which seem decidedly gaudy to me, but clearly not to others)? I found that the base cloth interior met my needs. While the leather was comfortable on a test drive, I didn't really want leather interior (cold in winter, hot in summer). I miss the satellite radio, however.

Everybody has different priorities and desires. Personally, I was looking for a 'relatively' minimal and lightweight "track car" that I could also drive in spring, summer, and autumn. Spend the time to experience in test drives and your answer will become apparent to you. Good luck!

We use to do "power-line runs" on the gravel roads beneath them back like 40 years ago when you could still get access to them. Boy we beat some cars pretty bad back then...stupid but fun as hell.

All good tips! :D Of the premium, I looked through the list, I liked the idea of most of it. But, do I need any of that? Unsure lol. Anyone have some gripes about the car that only someone who has driven it for a while would notice?

Man, if the roads are unused for every day traffic, that's better. But he would do it on normal roads where people would drive by. I went "to the store" with him once, and he was driving like he was in a rally race. It's funny, because he blew up his engine in the STI, loves camaros, and hates fords lol.

that brings a good visual to the options you're paying for.

Yeah, people are funny...love this hate that. I never really took that attitude.
All my co-workers that I bracket race my Ford against were Chevy guys and we all built a pretty good respect for one another. We talked some smack leading up to the weekend but when it was all said and done we learned a lot from each other.
