No I understand that your setup is somewhat similar to KB in that regard but I liked the actual placement on the rear drivers side on KB a little better. One thing I did like more on your kit was the bypass air is still cooled. KB is not cooled so if your not throttle opened IATs rise quick in traffic.

Passenger side and driver side manifold air temp is the same. But only Roush/FRPP and us can do temp differential which we feel is more important then just IAT2. In the end, it can work with just IAT 1, just IAT2 or both, but we feel we have better control in the cal because of the extra info.

Can you explain why you think that? What is that data used for? I can't see how it would be used in the program. I see it being useful to know how efficient the intercooler is, looking at temps, boost related on a trend, but to manipulate anything in code?? I only say that because I have tons of experience with controlling and writing code for a large amount of sophisticated manufacturing equipment not only designing but writing the code. Please don't take me as being a smart a$$, I really would like to understand and learn. With KB the intake is only taking in fresh air, not in the engine bay so I worry less what incoming air temp is.

Idk why people are putting the KB/BW kit above the Whipple when there hasn't been nearly enough evidence yet that the KB/BW should rank higher than whipple. I guess it's just personal preference.

Personally I think the KB looks like a pure racecar mod and only meant to do one thing, go fast all the time. Whipple has a more factory fit/finish and performs perfectly.
They're really neck and neck.. Of course we give the nod to KB. ;)

I'm curious as to why you think it's a race only mod? We build tons of these and they drive perfectly fine.

Here's a good video showing one of our early 650hp (now 700hp) packages, with an automatic trans, with stock-like street manners.

We really have rock solid drive-ability, and working with Lund plus KB closely has allowed us to develop a solid kit.

I can attest to the fact that mine drives like a stocker until I stab the throttle. Travis and Lund have these KBs purring like kittens. On all of my pulls I have recoded zero Knock and it pulls like crazy. It's still got more left timing wise on 93. But really as most of us are daily drivers, street ability is important, KB has great manners.

These threads are usually interesting. Seems to me if you are going for 600 or so who on a stock block you may as well choose based on looks and price. All the kits are great at this level of power output.

If you're going for 1000 whp or more, then the discussion might get interesting again.

Calculating the supercharger efficiency as we use a supercharger model and pulley/flow predictions. With the model, we are able to predict engine performance and then adapt from that. It's OE type theory vs aftermarket which allows for better drivability and ever changing conditions.

I was talking purely looks man.

I know several people, one of which is Mustang Manny in Vegas with his 1400hp KB monster and it is amazing. KB makes a great product no doubt about it. He gets 7mpg on e85 and is limited to the great vegas area but still a street car haha.
