Hm thats kind of a bummer. I was thinking of getting 20" wheels and getting the 305/30 20 with a 28.4" diameter. Was thinking some extra sidewall would help it hook. I know 1st gear will be useless, but Id like to atleast have 2nd gear.
A 305/30/20 had less sidewall than a 325/30/19. A 20" will give you a taller gear, that may help with traction.

I am running the RE71R in 305/30/19 and they do well on the street. I got 2 track days and 9,000 miles out my SC2s but they were not great on the street for acceleration. The RE71R is a better tire on the street, I am doing a track day on Feb 1 and will see how the RE71R compares the SC2s,

Majority of these reasons is why I am considering a centrifugal. 3.73 is brutal and I couldn't imagine it with a PD blower on the street, lol. I can already break my Indy 500's loose with ease in first with no blower.

Ill be swapping to 3.31s once I put a blower on.

I am leaning more towards them. Reason I wanted a tire like an R888R or similar, was for spirited driving.

I have the R888R's. Great street performance. Not great in sub 60 degree temps (nasty fishtailing if you're not careful) but at 70 or above you're good and they heat up very fast. From a dig in drag mode with all nannies turned off, on the street, you'll spin but it isn't going to burn rubber, more like a controlled forward moving loss of traction. Pretty violent to be honest. Of course it's a track tire so no problem with spirited driving and the GT500 on the front page that ran 9's did with R888R's so I think you're safe at the strip. Have about 5000 miles on them with very little loss of rubber. have to be careful in the rain of course but as long as it isn't a downpour with standing water you'll be ok. Just have to slow down

Having run MT ET Street S/S, Nitto NT05R and Nitto 555R’s on my 17 with 710whp by far the best on the street is the Nitto 555R. They handle the best by far with no wallowing/swaying at higher speeds like the others, best of the 3 in rain, wears the best and grips just about the same on the street. I am running 305/35/20.

I have mh racemaster drag radials 325 45 17's, great grip compared to normal tires. Gotta run them around 18-19 psi cold though but they feel solid at high speeds with this pressure.

What psi are you running? I have the same exact tires and rims. Around 40’s and 50’s degrees weather, my tire slips a little. Maybe I’m driving this all wrong during the colder days. I can’t wait for warmer weather to just go balls to the wall with my NT555R’s.

NT555R are the best daily street tires hand down. I’ve been running nothing but for the last 10 years on all my setups. 24psi on the street, 19-20psi at the strip. Front struts are key to getting sticky tires to REALLY hook. Weight transfer is EVERYTHING......
