So recently I started noticing that my blowoff valve kinda sounds like a sprinkle on downshifts.

Kinda sounds like this.. But sped up

Any idea what could be going on? I do not have a boost gauge on the car and the headers are stock.
Could it be an exhaust leak?

If i rev it, i dont really hear that sound just like a solid blowoff valve sound.

Flutter? Too much pressure, not enough BOV.

Sound like that?

Hmm, the BOV was good when I first installed. Only been about 8 months.

How do I check if its working?
I didn't install the kit myself but I can figure out how to check.

Should I just rev and see if its working?

BV57 all the way. I'm on a 3.6 and the BV57 is a beast.

I'm running the BV57 as well
Then flow isn't an issue. Have you checked the lines and fitting on the BOV to make sure the vacuum signal is not being lost somewhere?

I did not install it myself.. Is this something I can check at home easily?

Surge can damage the impeller in the blower, and blow out gaskets etc in the intake/intercooler piping. CAN. Doesn't mean will instantly. Either BOV stuck, or lost it's vaccum signal. All the excess air has to have somewhere to go.

Yes, check the hose connection on the top of BOV. Grab a hold of it and make sure it is securely clamped into the fitting and air tight.

Follow that vacuum hose from the top of the BOV (located in the passenger side behind the front bumper, on the outlet hardpipe of the intercooler), check that line all the way to the vacuum block in front of the inlet manifold. Make sure no hose damage and no loose connections on the vacuum block and associated vacuum lines.

you can test by appliing pressure and you can also test vacuum to see when it opens, just have to apply it to the bov.

if you are above the stock 3.8 pulley, we usually recommend a bigger bov, thats why our custom stage 2 kit we helped them design is so popular for the $$. smaller pulley and huge bov, good to 1200 or so hp
