Anyone else noticed this?

The mirror housing seems to have gradually rubbed away at the mount and damaged it.

Sorry to see that mate. It almost looks like something had got wedged in there and folding the mirrors has moved it about and caused a horrible looking mess :tsk:

Any sort of rubbing/grinding noise when it's operated? If so, I'd say it's a warranty fix, if it has been something that's been wedged in there, you might be out of luck.

I've got it too. :frusty:

My mirrors get folded twice getting in and out of the garage.

Yeah, suspected it was a design/tolerance issue. Don't want to bother going into the dealers just for this, just yet, maybe wait until there's another warranty issue or two. However, it's a bit inconvenient not using the mirrors.

These cars are becoming a bit of a mess, puddle light problems, bad paint and panel fitment, and now this.

I have all those, but it was kind of expected. It's a pain going back to the dealers, but it's all covered under the warranty. Luckily haven't had anything major (engine problems etc.) - yet.

Build quality aside, overall, I still think it's pretty awesome.

To be fair the bad paint is probably the worse out of that, and what is classed as bad paint? As long as they aren't blowing up and rattling them selves to death, this issues are pretty minor.
Don't jinx us!!!

Remembered to check mine yesterday and both mirrors are starting to show signs of rubbing!

Looks more like aluminium corrosion pushing the paint up, then it rubs, rather than rubbing causing the corrosion. Haven't seen it on the US sites so maybe down to our use of grit coupled with poor prep for paint.

Yes, pretty disgraceful really. Someone should make some noise to the guys at the top. This is a new car, it shouldn't be having these issues. Not forgetting the underbody protection spray as well. Making me think twice about my order. This isn't a 10k car, it's a £30 -£40k car, albeit the build quality on a Fiesta seems to be better!

Is there anyone who has not had any faults with their car?!
