I don't know if Targa's issue is the same but it's only the glass that won't adjust to the correct angle rather than the housing itself.
Housing is fine - only the mirror has incorrect angle despite pushing it in all the way - still does not show what is behind the car but shows what is on the left of the car if it makes sense.

Checked mine and its OK left-to-right. Up and down is an issue though - you can point it really high (to look at the sky!), but not downwards. So I can't use the mirror to see the kerb when parking. Not the end of the world, but slightly annoying. Wouldn't mind fixing, but not worth the hassle of a dealer visit. Not keen on taking the mirror out myself in case its a nightmare to get back in.

Also, it doesn't stop automatically when at the limit. It just grinds away at the gear mechanism violently! This makes me think that you probably shouldn't force the mirror a bit more as it seems to be at its physical limit already? Suspect the fix is more likely to involve physically taking the mirror out and putting it back in correctly, somehow!?

On a similar issue, regarding the 'folding mirror issue' (drivers mirror doesn't fold in very much). Having been in touch with my dealer, they've confirmed it's a design fault, but there isn't anything from Ford (e.g. Service Bulletin) regarding a possible fix.

Sounds like it hasn't been fitted at the "zero" position. Might need relearning or removing the glass to find the zero position and refining?
That's what I'm assuming, but will probably wait until someone posts a 'how to remove and refit the mirror' DIY before having a go myself. I can just see there being a spring that bounces out and disappears into the housing, never to be seen again.

Not sure of the reason for this but I know that the rear of the car is slightly wider that the front of the car. This may be the reason why the mirrors don't adjust enough. I have noticed this when taking customers out as well.

Yeah I picked mine up tonight and the side mirrors was the first thing I checked out and noticed that the passengers was strange angle to see but I didn't think it was a faulty mirror but just to cope with the shape.

I've already stopped looking at the passenger mirror as I see more of the huge housing rather than a lot of glass. :D

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but just picked up my 2019 GT and the passenger door mirror has the same problem described in here - it adjusts freely up, down, in and out...but when it's adjusted fully in it's still showing the lane next to me rather than the passenger edge of my car. If I lean across to the middle of the car then I can see what I'd expect to be able to see sitting comfortably in my seat!

Before I book it in at the dealer, did anyone else who's had the same problem come up with an easy fix? (And if not, what did the dealer have to do to fix it?)

Hi Gary,

I think that’s just how they are. Not great, but you soon learn to live with it...

It’s part of the half arsed RHD conversion, the mirrors are built for LHD cars, stand at the front of the car and look at the mirrors, they aren’t symmetrical, one sweeps back more than the other. It’s the same story with the handbrake being on the wrong side of the centre console.

Mines the same. I always though it was my seating position to be honest as I sit quite upright due to a knackered shoulder. I just kind of got used to it.

Nice to know it's half assed conversion problem

Actually on the subject of mirrors why don't they auto fold in lock? Anyone know?

So having said I wouldn't mod my car... I bought a blind-spot mirror from Amazon (ÂŁ4.85 for a pair) so I can at least see the passenger side of the car :)
