My car was parked in my driveway, its at a slight slant. I woke up in the morning to find my car halfway in the road, it literally rolled down my driveway! Luckily it didnt hit anything, but has anyone else has this issue? I had my parking brake engaged, ever since i have been pulling my brake all the way up because im paranoid. :(

If you're parked on an uphill slope, park it in first gear. Downhill slope, reverse gear. Apply the handbrake while the car is in neutral, before you have engaged gear, to ensure that the weight is not on the transmission. Also, if you're parked next to a curb, turn your wheels so that if the car starts rolling, the tires will hit the curb and prevent the car from rolling away downhill.

...unless the brake disengages/fails/etc for any of a variety of reasons... someone nudges you with their car, your handbrake fails, whatever.

It's just a backup.

This happened to me too but luckily I was in the car to stop it from rolling. My issue was that I wasn't pulling the parking break all the way up. I guess the parking break doesn't work unless it's fully up so now every time I park I pull on the parking break extra hard to make sure my car doesn't roll away.

Always put in gear and pull up at least 3 clicks.

Who parks a car with a manual transmission and leaves it in neutral? Nothing wrong with your parking brake, you need to park with the car in gear.
