Parking brake sticking?

So the other night I put the GT away wet after installing my STEEDA IRS braces and test driving in the rain.

I parked the car in the garage and engaged the parking brake.

FWD a week later and I go to take a drive after letting it sit in the garage. (Hadn't drove it since parking last week). I go to back out, and the car wont budge. I check the parking brake, it's down completely. I re engage the parking brake and release. Same deal. So I give it a little gas in reverse and hear a loud ass POP and it then rolls backwards.

Get it out of the garage and into the drive and hear a "bump bump bump" in rear. I back up, pull forward, and it goes away. Took it for ride and all seemed well.


Did the parking brake latch on that hard and corrode that much on the rotor to make it stick like that or do you think there is another issue. It didn't do it the rest of the day.

I have the same issue on my car too. I thought it was yhe parking brake also. I put the car in the garage hit the brake shut it off and left it in frist gear only. No parking break went to drive it a few days later samething happened. It feels like the front breaks are sticking. Now i parked it in the garage but going slowly and hitting my stopper and not applying the breaks at all and putting it in first gear. I got to go check it to see what it does

I def had my e-brake on but... I hope it's not an issue with the hill assist feature. Electronics are fun till they take a sh*t. I know it was my back brakes because if it were the front, I would have spun the rears with no drag on my garage floor surface with as much gas as I gave it to get the "pop".

turn off your hill assist in your features and try to replicate the issue. is your garage/driveway on an incline that could potentially trip the hill assist?

Ok just ran in to the garage to check. Put the car in neutral and it rollls back and fourth no problem doing it my last way. This issue for me has happened a few times in the 6 months i owned the car. But it sat outside most of the time. I just recently put in the garage last month and has been happening more. I have almost 5000 miles on my car

This actually happened to me yesterday. Car had been sitting for at least four days. The last time I had it out it was raining so I gave it a quick wash and pulled it in the garage to dry it.

Went to drive it yesterday and released the brake. Car wouldn't budge. Had to floor it to break it loose.

It has happened before when the brakes were wet and I parked it but I have never let it sit this long.

Did your e-brake sensors indicate your e-brake was still up even though it was down? I have a similar issue where i have to hold it down for couple seconds or else my sensors go haywire thinking it's using the e-brake...
