Nope.....you guys have got it all wrong. Mask off all that does not get any coating. THIS is what you coat the rotor hat with:

Do not get me wrong but rotor hats visible though the rim look way better when blacked out :wink:

Even the calipers (personal opinion) :)

I don’t know if you guys get it over there, but I have used hammerite BBQ paint :

I didn’t bother masking, it doesn’t last long on the friction surfaces when you bed the brakes in ... lol

Throw a pic up when you get them on the car. I’m planning on swapping mine out soon. Just waiting on the shields to come in.
Any concern on temperature on those? Are the metal cast colors high temp paint?

Guess I never updated with pic of them on..

I think anti-rust high-temp primer, followed by high-temp paint, followed by high-temp clear is best. The clear helps repel the brake dust that would otherwise adhere to the painted hats between washes.

I always use clear. It also protects the paint.

Nice GP, i just came back by this thread to check it out. Got mine painted but havent put them on the car yet. Getting ready for a move so will have to wait. Did the rears too. Picked up both sets from Shelby America Takeoffs
