I use the paddles quit often, once the trans is warmed up. 3.5 years of practice. As others have said the more you accelerate the faster the shifts due to the pressure I believe.
-start in 2nd from stoplight
-Don't be eager to down shift until going very slow, 3-2 at like 5mph
-basically I turn my car into an 8-speed when paddle shifting.
Takes alot of practice ad a good tune for it to be enjoyable
When the trans is cold it is so slow to shift.

I use the paddles alot tbh, on the twisties i go to Sports and Sequential mode. I rarely go below 3rd and to some degree use it like 2nd, 2nd like 1st.

At the track I use Track mode with Sequential and again rarely go below 3rd. I mostly drive the Bend Motorsport Park which is pretty flowing and highspeed.

Its alot better using the paddles now that the suspension is done and the rear can actually keep up with what the motor and trans want to do. Literally like a different car. Ive also added a much bigger Trans cooler which means it doesnt heat up as much at the track which defo helps the feel and consistency of the shifting.

I only use it to downshift a gear or two to keep my rpms up... it short shifts so much it bogs down the car.

Its pretty awful driving in full paddle shift mode.
