Hello All,
I did not know where to post this issue. So if this is the wrong section please redirect me to the appropriate one,

My wife starts my car to move because its street cleaning day. After it is done I go out to return my car back and I got a failed start attempt. I had the half start then the clicking sound. I tried again and the same sound so I assumed it was the starter, The car is a 2025 Mustang gt premium with 131 miles and its the original starter. So I go and buy a new starter and install it and it still would not start and I got the wrench light and fault code P0339. The crankshaft position sensor. Before I go and buy another part can someone tell me is it hard to replace and where is it located?Any help will be greatly appreciated. I checked the battery voltage and it was good.

Thank you,
Blake

WTF are you even trying with a new car? And loading the parts cannon at that?
Take it in for warranty repair.
Oh, and look up Mustang 7G.

Hey my car is a 2015 GT Premium with 131K miles on her. My warranty expired 36k miles. I didnt get a extended warranty, What warranty do you have for your 2017. All I did was explain my issue and was asking for help. Been here since 2015 and this is the 1st negative comment I ever received.

Your original post said it was a 2025, hence the confusion

Try a crank relearn first and see if that clears things up. If you have to replace the Crank Position Sensor, that’s going to be a little more work. I changed mine when I had the tranny out. Here’s a pic for reference to show where it’s located.

The green arrow is pointing to the sensor and the green circle shows the location of the mounting bolt, which is either an 8MM or 10MM. I forget which, but it’s one of those sizes.

Short of removing the tranny, you could probably access it relatively easy if you remove the intake manifold. As you can see in my pic, there should be enough room to remove that bolt and pull the sensor out. I hope this helps.

Easy fix you have to remove battery box but not hard at all

Yes I see after you high lighted that error. Typing and not checking before submitting was my issue there. I dont think anybody will attempt to repair anything on a 2025 car with 131 miles on it but I did type a mistake. Regardless Ive been a member for 9 years and I was reaching out for help. Didnt expect that comment from a member.

@blakedanatural were you able to try a crank relearn and/or remove and replace the crank position sensor to see if either corrected the issue?

Hello All,
It wasnt the starter but the crankshaft position sensor was the culprit. I purchased one from the Ford dealership. I attempted to install after removing the battery and the compartment surrounding the battery. Using a 8mm socket with a long extension I was able to remove the old one, The problem was trying to get the new one seated so I could start the screw to tighten. Doesnt anyone have a trick to get the sensor to seat properly? I was outside for 2 hours trying till my wrist was swollen maneuvering in that tight spot. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not sure if this will work in this situation but I have taped with electrical tape the screw to the socket. Apply the tape to the head of the screw and to the body of the socket With the screw in the socket. Once you have the screw started pull the socket off, remove the tape and finish the job. Where you’re using an extension you should tape the extension/socket connection as well.
Hope this helps.
