Hello all,

Quick run down on what's on the car: kooks catted 1 7/8 LTH, cords xtreme active catback, v2 cobra jet IM, VMP twin 69 throttle body, vengeance stage 2 ceremetallic clutch,PBD tuned

Now for the issue:
I haven't had any codes pop up since I do have o2 spacers for the hi flow cats but after getting my new clutch installed, a crank relearn was done, but the only code I have is a p0036 DTC (HO2S Heater Control Circuit – Bank 1 Sensor 2) which is passenger side downstream.
When I clear the code, it pops up right on start up so it made me think it was blown fuse somewhere. I checked the fuses AFTER I went under the car and looked at the o2 sensors. I even switched the passenger downstream with the driver downstream and the same code popped up after clearing it upon start up. No blown fuses either. I also tried to flash back to stock tune and reflash but that didn't work either.
Any suggestions as to where to look now?

Since it did not follow the sensor it is a wiring issue.

But if it was a wiring issue, wouldn't the upstream sensor be affected as well? Or other connections on that side? I went under and didn't see any areas showing signs of damage on the wiring harness

The front and rear are separate. Get a multi-meter and start tracing the heater circuit.

Most likely place is the plug.

Would the heater circuit be in the o2 sensor? Or would it be in the plug coming from the harness that connects to the o2 sensor

The heater is in the o2 sensor. The plug and associated wires are where it gets power. I don't know which wire is for the heater.

I would unplug the plug and see if any give 12v power. (Ign on) Then I would check the other side and see if any give 12v power. That will tell you which pin in the plug is for the heater.

If neither give any power then the engine needs to be running.

Anyway find the pin that supplies power to the heater and trace it to where you actually get power. When you find power you have then isolated where the break is and can either run a new wire or find the break and repair it.

If you still have warranty let the dealer fix it. It may be covered under the 8 year 80,000 mile emissions warranty.

Alright so I finally had time again to go under. I found the wire with the shortage by buying a multimeter and testing all of them. It's a black wire in the passenger downstream plug that the o2 sensor connects to. Would I have to take off all of the tape wrapped around it, going up towards the engine or is there an easier way to repair it?

For me it was my ECU. There was a shortage so it wasn't getting the signal from the o2 sensor

So you had to replace your entire ECU?
Yeah and had to get the keys reprogrammed as well. But just like @K4fxd said, check all your wires, harness, if it's tuned, flash back to stock then reflash the tune. Do the easy first stuff. What happened before the code popped up for you?
