I think they probably need to build in a small safety margin to ensure the lip on the bottom of the spoiler clears the bootlid and thus sits flush but IME it's a very excessive safety margin.

As I said, I'd drill 2 if not 3mm towards the front of the car.

Top stuff. Like that.
Have to admit, like most spoilers for this car, I'm not 100% sold on it from all angles however...what sold it to me was following stevec up to Scotland the other month and staring at his arse for prolonged periods and thinking it looked cool.

Well!! Stevec's arse is cool eh?:lol:

Looking good Tony, I'm in the 'not sure what spoiler works camp', think I'll not be getting one though.

BTW, I'd have no qualms in fitting any spoiler, as in the act of drilling/sticking one on, it's not like you'll ever take it off and it'd be easy to hide any mistakes

stevec said he'd like to see every S550 with gloss black plastics!

No gloss for me; plastidipping that spoiler and getting a matt black roof. :headbang:

Now got the rest of my rejected-car refund back so can afford to splash out, which is just as well since I've got a new set Michelins going on this weekend! :D

Plastidipping white or matte black?

(Steve got style, gloss blacks look the nuts, totally not bias as Gloss black grilles are going in mine fri!)

Matte. White would be...not good. For the spoiler. We all know it's great for the car itself!
Lol! Will look the bollocks! With a nice white 'Martini racing' with the martini circle and lines behind it will look bad boy!

Bit like this (right side)
