I just went to my local auto paint supplier and asked for Sikaflex, and used what they gave me.....ill have a check in the garage later to see if there's an old tube of the stuff knocking about...

In other news....fitted the Borla Sport Catback this morning.

First impressions, not much louder than stock IMO, nicer growl, idle is almost identical.



Hmmm, it looks really pissed and miles away from the trim in that pic but it doesn't look like that in the flesh! Gap at the top of the pipe is actually about a finger width so wouldn't want it any close than that.

Oh, and the stock exhaust weighs a TONNE!!!

Yeah the new exhaust saves you 15-20kg.

Cold starts must sound glorious though.

I can't wait to get my car just so I can fit my Corsa Sports straight away.

Lift. The weight and sheer size of the one-piece stock item means it would be a bit of a pain otherwise. Not impossible, but a pain nevertheless.

It's also ruined the fuel economy 'cos I keep stamping the loud pedal so I can listen to it! :lol:

Guy that looks after my other car is a friend so let me use a ramp cheap.

The job is really simple and only takes 30 mins so anywhere will be able to do it. It came with idiotproof instructions too so there shouldn't be any problems.

I fitted the Roush Axle-backs myself, nice easy install, only took 30 mins. Just be-careful if fitting on your own, when you cut through the original pipe the silencer if not supported and will swing down and smack you on the forehead :doh: ooch:frusty:

If anyone done the South East fits some axle backs I would really love to come and hear them. I would like a bit for noise from my car when I boot it but I dont want to upset the neighbors at 6am every morning!

I'd like to hear catback and axle back, I'd probably go catback, just so I don't have to cut anything

I'm in Basingstoke and you're quite welcome to come and listen to mine.

It does seem to be a wee bit louder since fitting yesterday for some reason.

6th on the motorway though and you barely notice it's aftermarket. That said, if it was one of my neighbours coming and going at random times of the day and night with this exhaust, I'd be pretty unimpressed. :tsk:

I believe that it is something to do with the exhaust taking time to break in.

That was my thinking too, it just seemed TOO much louder to be simply bedding in. Still, it's more the sound I wanted so it's all good.
