A couple of weeks ago I found out a guy was refused insurance coverage!
He was rear ended and was found 100% responsible !! He had coverage but..

HIS TAIL LIGHTS HAD THE BLACKOUT TREATMENT AS WELL AS THE SIDE MARKERS FRONT AND REAR!!

Tough lesson to learn! He must now pay for his own damage and the other vehicles damage!!

Hmmmmm.... Time for a re- think ??? For some of you guys anyway!! Good Luck should this happen!

BC's insurance legislation is different than that of Ontario, but working in claims I can tell you that in Ontario that would have been covered no questions about it.

I live in a state that only requires that tail lights be visible up to 500 feet. Seeing as how these tail lights are bright as hell, tinted tail lights still meets that requirement. All depends.

never understood it either, reducing the ability for others to see my car at night. It already annoys me greatly to see people drive around with tailights out, especially the third brake light. Its great to see even a third and another brake light out at the same time. Glad to see newer cars come with LED third brakelights so they dont burn out

anchor room tint or am tint on the tails reduces the light output of the brake lights by next to nothing

I tinted all of the exterior lenses with Big Worm Graphic's "tint" shade.

It's the lightest of their three shades. I like the look and it really doesn't decrease the brightness of the head lights, brake lights, etc.

Here are a few pics. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics of the car at night with the lights on, but it's not that much of a change in brightness.

To me it's not worth tinting for the very fact your insurance could be voided if your ever rear ended or in an accident. Insurance companies are always looking out for themselves and trying to minimize or get out of paying a claim.

As a physical therapist I like dark tinted tail lights. The darker the better. Great for business.

A cheap looking mod that reduces functionality. No thanks.

and posts like that are terrible for business ;) although maybe you were just trying to be funny. the fewer faces i have to plate, screw, and sew back together, the better.

even though it makes the car look "clean", i've never been one to tint head/tails, replace reflectors with painted plastic, etc. most people never will have an issue but i'd like to improve my chances.
