So I'm heading to my local dealer to place an order on a DIB GT PP. Really excited. The only other option I'm considering is the rear park assist... is it worth it?

People seem to get bent out of shape about the holes/tabs in the bumper that you get with the rear park assist.

Thats a pretty simple order. Should be easy to find one sitting on a lot rather than putting in a 2-3 month order

It comes with a backup camera as standard, if you didn't know already.

I'd consider the reverse assist if that wasn't the case.

I never thought I would need or want it but I have had it on my last two leased Explorers (a 2012 and a 2014) and I would be hard pressed to live without it now. I have to parallel park daily and it really is a useful tool.

This is what I thought initially, but after really considering it, I think it'll be useful since I have to parallel park every day. The camera is certainly helpful, but the backup sensors are more helpful in telling me whether I have 1" of space to the car behind me, and can still back up, or if I only have 1/4" of space, and need to stop.

Only 2 cars with that package with in 300 miles... also, it's winter here in southern nj so If I order I can use the stock tires. If I buy one off a lot I have to replace them immediately. Car will be a DD.

So the car comes with a back up camera from the factory?

My current car has a camera as well as sensors. I see no need for the sensors given the camera, even if parallel parking. I'd save the money or use it towards one of the other options.

YES GET IT! haha

1 - Camera very handicapped in inclement weather; precipitation clouds and blurs the picture. This is the first car i've owned with a camera, screen is massive (premium model), yet its still blurred in the rain. (edit: ok so its not atrocious but its definitely impaired, esp. at night)

2 - No proximity detection! Sensors beep how far and the screen shows a little mini-car with colored proximity bars (in addition to the big, colored, central guidelines). You already know something is behind you by looking. The sensors give the rest of the story.

3 - Corners! The awesome thing is that even without BLIS, the sensors still catch some of the corners that the camera doesn't fully display.

4 - Camera is absolutely useless in the weather if you have a base model; screen is already small enough as it is

I had a focus with MFT and sensors and I didn't get one with the camera. Much happier to use the sensors over the camera.

Yes get it, you won't even notice the spots on the rear bumper with DIB.

Also get the enhanced security package too.
