Ordered my GT500 today but ?

Well I ordered my GT500 yesterday and today received an email from the dealer with a preview Order #.

So my question is since this is my first times ordering, what should i expect.

Also, with the Coronavirus how much of a delay, under normal times how long would it take for delivery.

I see in other treads an 4 digit order number, when do i get that.

Im surprised they are still taking orders. The rumor is that if your car doesn't have a VIN and in some form of production, it wont be a '20 MY car.

As long as the order banks are open, the dealers can order as many cars as they like, there is just no guarantee they will get built.

Here is the status of a car that didn't make the cut.
Unscheduled - Balance Out
The order will not be produced because the model year has balanced out.

Now that's a new one. I've never seen or heard of that status

I have never seen it because only Ford, the original dealer and Ford Performance are the only people that can view an Unscheduled cars status.

Right. Usually an order would just sit in unscheduled material hold if not fulfilled. Never have I seen a unscheduled balanced out. Interesting.

I don't doubt you, just never heard of it happening.

Strange times i guess was my point

I think the only reason we haven't seen it is for the same reason the vehicle visibility report disappears as soon as the dealer reports the car delivered. As soon as the status is posted the report disappears.
Essentially what ever orders are in the bank at the time of closing are cancelled. I doubt that is done on an order by order basis, I think it is done on all orders at the same time. But this is just my best guess.

Obviously, I'd never heard of "balance[ed] out" either, kind of a strange description though.
