My wife has a 2013 Edge Limited, which has this feature. It's pretty handy! I would be surprised if the Mustang didn't.

That would be perfectly acceptable to me. I drove a newer Fusion (not sure if it was a 2013 or 2014) as a rental car once, and, unless I just wasn't pushing the lever hard enough, it wouldn't go into a locked position. It drove me absolutely crazy.
Yeah I realized this on accident, didn't know why it kept blinking when I just barely pushed it, so I pushed it back and ended up engaging it the other way...weird at first but cool after I was used to it.

You just weren't pushing it hard enough.

(Waiting for the "That's what she said" response).

My little '13 Focus SE has it. Ford seems to be rolling a lot of the features from their European cars into the new American cars, so I fully expect the '15 Mustang to have this feature. Esp. since it will be sold world-wide.

It has not been stated anywhere, but I thing the S550 will have this.

The reason the 2010-14 did not have it when other Ford's did, is the 2010 re-fresh T/S system was still based on 2005 technology.

Other Ford's when up-dated in the past few years have been getting the feature so hopefully the S550 is enough of a re-fresh for it to now be included.

My wife has a base model '13 Dodge Grand Caravan SE that has it, and drove a Chevy Malibu rental car that had it. As soon as I got used to it in my wife's GC, I started missing it in my 2011 so I had to buy one of the kits for my car.

Now I get into one of my kids cars or my '69 Mustang and I have to re-train myself to hold down on the stalk to get more than one flash !!

Many think this is a silly or dumb feature, but I think it is really handy in that you no longer have to concentrate on holding the stalk for a few blinks instead you can concentrate more on the traffic.

If you are one who seldom makes lane changes on multi-lane roads or one of the many I see every day who does not use a signal to make a lane change then you probably don't see the use for the feature.

I have it on my Audi and I always think my current mustang has it (I drive my Audi all winter then switch to my mustang once all the salt is off the roads) and I must tell you; takes a few weeks *or close call accidents/tickets* for me to realize I don't have it on my mustang so I kinda hoping it is so I don't have to get re-used to it :) When you are going at high speeds on major highways; it's really helpful

there's is so much of modern techniques in the automotive world that the new Mustang won't have, you can't have them all at once, I guess.
- front parking sensors,
- back seat headrests
- speed limiter
- and so on ....
on the other hand, I think we couldn't be unsatisfied with the equipment that comes along with the new S550..

Agreed - best thing at this point would be for all of us to have our cars sitting in our driveways or us driving them right now !!!

Depends. My 2014 F-150 has the one touch 3 flash but the stalk will not remain locked when you fully engage the signal - it returns to center. You press it again to disengage or complete your turn. One of my least favorite things about the truck.

I like this feature on wife's 2012 Ford Edge. I hope it makes it to the new mustang!

Oh goodness, I really hope this isn't the same "feature" as where it's not a 3-way switch and returns to "center" when you turn on the blinker, but keeps the blinker going. I absolutely HATE this "feature", if that's what we're talking about. Everytime I use the blinker and then try to turn it off, it turns the opposite side blinker on and you end up fighting back and forth for ages until you get it to turn off and stay off.

I want the blinker to have a solid switch so that when I turn on the left-turn signal, the physical switch stays in that position until I tell it otherwise. I know that you see Grandma and Grandpa on the highway who can't remember to turn off their blinker, but this is a Nanny I don't want or need.
I think it was a Ford Flex that I had as a rental (my boss was driving) and he noted this. I didn't drive it but I can see how that would be weird...kind of pointless if you asked me too. I do like the 3-click lane change feature that Audi/VW has had for years now and everyone else is finally getting it (Chevy rentals I've had seem to all have this now). I hope we have that and not the return-to-center stalk. Wonder if Tricia can answer this for us?

I have a 13 Fusion Ti. I have the half press for 3 blink lane change and have loved it since I was introduced to it in my Bimmer. My stalk returns to center after going past a detent that activates a constant blinker for complete turns. I like this as well. To "unchoose" the turn signal you don't have to go the other way, you just go past the detent the same way you did to choose it in the first place and it cancels it. I think always having the stalk in the same place to start an action is the best way to do it.

Interestingly I just drove a rental 2014 Fusion Ti and it had a stalk that moved in the old fashioned manner. It also had actual moving buttons in the overhead console for lights and sunroof, while my Dec 2012 build Fusion has capacitive touch "buttons" up there. Hmmm. ?

That's cool news. That was the one thing I was already preparing to live without. Nice I won't have to.
