Many German cars (and these days also Japanese cars offer it, even a Chevy Sonic) have a feature where you hit the turn signal stalk once and the turn signal will blink 3 times, then automatically shut off. It is sometimes referred to as "3 blink touch-to-pass lane change".

The Euro S550 will probably not have this feature standard.

This little add-on is for the 2010-2014 car but it hopefully will become available for the 2015+ as well:

My GTI has this, I would assume the s550 will also, as many Ford cars already have it as well. It's a pretty common feature nowadays.

Wait... the S550 won't have this? Do modern Fords not have one-touch blinkers?

...my fiancée's Elantra has that...

i cannot tell about the s550

but my 2014 Ford Ranger Limited Pick-Up CAN do it, even my Campervan based on a 2009 Ford Transit 350T140 can do it

Looks like the knowledge and the Technology is somewhere in the FoMoCo:gossip:

my wife's edge does it. I'd be surprised if the mustang doesn't.

I sure hope the Mustang has it, it's the one thing my Jetta can do that I really like. Although I'd like it to blink 4 times instead, I guess I like to let it blink a couple times before I start moving.

My '14 Focus base SE has this, would be shocked if the S550 doesn't.

*shrug* this sounds absolutely stupid and pointless to me. They've had half-press signal on demand forever and that sounds like a much better way of doing it. You have complete control over it that way.

Oh goodness, I really hope this isn't the same "feature" as where it's not a 3-way switch and returns to "center" when you turn on the blinker, but keeps the blinker going. I absolutely HATE this "feature", if that's what we're talking about. Everytime I use the blinker and then try to turn it off, it turns the opposite side blinker on and you end up fighting back and forth for ages until you get it to turn off and stay off.

I want the blinker to have a solid switch so that when I turn on the left-turn signal, the physical switch stays in that position until I tell it otherwise. I know that you see Grandma and Grandpa on the highway who can't remember to turn off their blinker, but this is a Nanny I don't want or need.

On my Vette it's a standard turn signal lever but when you push half way it flashes the signal 3 times. If you hold it half way it will continue flashing for as long as you hold it but if you push harder it holds the flasher on until you complete the turn or manually release the lever.

JoeDog that is how my Focus is, you can just slightly push it up or down to engage the auto 3 time turn signal or you can fully engage the turn signal either way into a locked position...it allows for both.

That would be perfectly acceptable to me. I drove a newer Fusion (not sure if it was a 2013 or 2014) as a rental car once, and, unless I just wasn't pushing the lever hard enough, it wouldn't go into a locked position. It drove me absolutely crazy.
