Yeah, I would say at 3,000 miles, 1 quart per 1,000 miles, does seem to be quite a lot. My 99' Chevy Suburban 5.7L burns about the same as that, but it's an older (90's) push rod Chevy with 200,00 miles, and 100,000 miles on the reman engine.
