In your search for your mustang get the 51A Premium package, it includes driving lights, power driver seat with lumbar pump, nice 18" wheels and a small bump spoiled. The mods I installed are.

K&N ait filter (stock box) $55.00

Unleashed Tuner 93 $399.00 (removed limiter 7400 rpm's, auto trans shifts hard and quick, only use sport mode, paddle shifting)

SK throttle body spacer $120.00

JMS throttle pedal MAX $270.00
(this is a must, increase voltage to throttle pedal sensor, makes the throttle pedal very quick no lagging from a stop or idle 650 rpm's all the way to top end)
I am actually looking for the most base package to keep weight down, plus I never was a man of features when it comes to cars (I actually prefer the smaller base screen). Even base these cars come with stuff that was only on premium cars not too long ago. The car is plenty comfy as is, especially compared to my ZX3 Focus.

-I think I am going to go with the AirRaid unit with the plexiglass lid, I will look into other options as well.
-Spacer sounds good, are there any intake manifold spacers available as well? The more plenum volume the better.
-I think I will just go with Torrie's 93 oct tune instead of the MAX Anti Pedal Lag.

I have a few other mods in mind as well such as coppers (6hp Dyno proven gain in Duratec Focus, we'll see if it helps the Mustang as well), velocity stack cone filter, TB, 3" exhaust, long tube headers, cat-delete. I would be shooting for low to mid 13's. Though really I just go to the track for trap speeds to see if I gained power as that always gives me satisfaction as I know I'm not a professional driver. Thanks for the tips guys.

I test drove mine in january, it was 5 degrees F and had all season tires on asphalt. The car's rear end was all over the place and i was laughing like a kid.
I knew right there it was the car for me.

Are you thinking about getting 3.55 gears?
Would not be looking into a steeper gear initially, would like to see what I can do with the stock 3.15s first. I may look into them in the future.

My v6 was mid 13's with airaid intake, 93 tune, MagnaFlow mufflers, 73mm throttle body and shorty headers. Stock 3.15 gears and stock 051A wheels.

What great times we are living in, this V6 felt better than some older V8s with plenty of power under the curve to boot. I'd say my decision is made, now to finish paying off my current car and finding a Mustang base V6 in competition orange.
Save yourself the frustration and order the car the way you want it, not what the dealer is trying to sell.

I went to a couple of different Ford Dealers, even had them do 300 mile searches, V6's were hard to find. Plus got frustrated with dealers hard selling the Eco.

Here is a way to get x-plan pricing, plus $750 e-certificate that will stack with ford customer cash.

The current EAA deal ends 1 Jan 16 but may be renewed. membership is $40 takes about five weeks to get membership card. https://www.eaa.org/eaa

^This.
I placed my order and have been driving it for one year now. X-Plan plus rebates and I walked out the door with the 51a package, tint, spare wheel, all-weather floor mats, ttl for less than $24,000. It's my DD and I absolutely love it.

So I finally committed and traded up the ZX3 for a Triple Yellow 6MT. I don't regret it one bit. :D

I actually looked at the exact same vehicle. I looked at wrx, focus st & mustang v6. The reason I picked mustang are:
1. Performance wise, they are similar, the mustang is about second fastest.
2. Look wise, mustang wins by a big margin
3. Interior wise, mustang wins again by a big margin.

As its gonna be my only vehicle, I chose mustang

Thanks all. Yes, this car really feels like a premium car fit and finish wise and the V6 has such smooth power delivery. It is a dream to drive on the highway or twisty roads. I'm stoked.
