Hey guys
Trying to get that old school chambered sound from the S550.
Currently have the Stype catback on my Bullitt with an H Pipe and it sounds great.
but I was looking online and some people have put a flow master Midpipe and sounds pretty good. But they did say it was quieter.

how would it sound using the Flowmaster 10 series as a mid pipe with the Stype.
Anyone out there done the same ?.

thanks

Bullit already sounds pretty old school as it is.

Yeh
But later switched it out for an Stype which does sound great I’ll admit but thinking about adding a flowmaster midpipe.

Ideally, you'd want the h-pipe AND the flowmaster mid-mounted behind the H.

after spending a week of you tube exhaust sounds. I went with the MBRP race cat back with the H pipe. And for me, I love the sound of this system. Deep and throaty, good performance. After being under the car and looking at the stock manifold I don't think I will even waste my time installing headers.

I’ve been after the same thing and let’s be honest, the 4V motor doesn’t sound like a 2V. We just have to understand that.

with that being said, I’ve gone through 4 different exhaust configurations either by choice or out of my control.

what I’ve found is the cookie cutter, off the shelf options gives you the same sound as everyone else and some of them sound like crap as well as exacerbate the 4V rasp high in the rpm range.

Through trial and error what I’ve ended up with is a true dual exhaust with 12” flow through resonators and magnaflow bullet mufflers. The tone is deep and the resonators calm the high rpm rasp when I’m going down the straights.

In the end, I just wanted something different and some bass when I pull up on grid. More than happy to answer any questions.

Here are a couple short clips:

Keep in mind that all of these clips were taken on a variety of different cel phones in different conditions.

Here’s a clip of a lot of high rpm sound. I added in the intake on this clip but you can get an idea if you spend a lot of time in high RPM

I get a lot of compliments on it for the tone but keep in mind you’ll never get that 2V tone. Big cams might help but 90% of the people on this forum don’t do that.

Not a cookie cutter sound.

Interesting. Almost sounds like a v10.

That's my setup as well , Very nice and it took 2 attempts with other systems.
