Over the last 3 years I have had the car I have heard comments at least a dozen times by young admirers. They seem to particularly like the subdued but special Dark Highland Green color and that it stands out as not being an often seen Mustang. When I mention it is a tribute car to Steve McQueen from the movie Bullitt, I invariably get dumb looks. I mentioned that he was an action hero from the '60s and '70s. Then I mentioned he was in the same category as John Wayne. I get these dumb looks again that say huh who were they.
Hi - I will turn 82 on Jan 7th and was born 30 days after the attack on Pearl Harbor, which precipitated the U.S. joining WWII. I was born near the northern border of NY and my father said it was -28 degrees when he drove my mother to the hospital. He must have had a good battery in the car. Of course I was totally oblivious to what was happening then and some days I feel like I’m slowing returning to that state of mind now that I’m an octogenarian. I have 20,000 miles on my ‘19 model and will hopefully get to at least 50,000 before they hide the keys on me or the grim reaper finds out where I live. I’ve had my share of good women, fun cars starting with a ‘55 Ford convertible with 3 on the tree and a nice set of glass packs and fortunately good health accompanied by a dry and self-deprecating sense of humor… Bruce
