My Ford Performance strut tower bar didn’t come with new nuts to install the bar. Can I reuse the ones already on the car? My car has 20” wheel/tire option so I already have the OEM cowling brace on the car. I’m just adding the strut tower bar to finish things off.

Yes, Unless the nylon inside them is damaged. You can apply some blue locktite if you like

Yes and don’t go nuts tightening them nuts. People have broken the studs.

I think you entirely missed the point of his reply.
well, please do share then. I guess the picture implies they are single use nuts? Wonder where those instructions came from?

They came from the factory manual. Ford wants you to use new nuts, because they are nylock nuts, and the nylon material comes apart or thins out once you remove them. I have removed and re-installed my strut brace several times, re-using the nuts each time. No issues to report, but if you want to follow the manual, you need new ones. Or, like I said, put some locktite on the studs before you thread them on.

I very nearly sheared a stud while reusing the original nuts and torquing to spec. So, don’t do that. I believe they are single use nuts. Not sure. I have a new set but have not bothered to install them yet. And if/when I do install them I won’t be torquing to spec.

I bit the bullet and bought a new set of four OEM nuts.
Thx for everyone’s advice and input.

Wise choice. And just FYI, if you're are not aware, the adjacent nuts are a slightly different thread. Start carefully in case your supplier sent incorrect nut.
