Someone better tell Nissan about the strut brace thing, all 370s come with them as standard, they also have the deployable bonnet as well. In fact it's a full on K Brace.

The tribars could have been left, I'm sure they just make this up! What about the dash gauges?

Anyway, I better e mail Andy for my build number!

Exactly what he said. How do other manufacturers get away with it?

Is the 370 sold in all the same countries as the Mustang though?

As has been mentioned numerous times, it's easier to water the car down to get EU-wide approval than it is to faff about getting individual approval in each country it's being sold in.

Stuff like the gauges and Recaros though are a different matter, although I think the Recaros issue is probably something to do with airbags & Ford thinking not enough RHD buyers would spec them.

I think the Recaro thing is due to Ford not wanting to engineer them for RHD, as only the left seat is fully adjustable in LHD configuration - the right seat only does the forward, back and recline thing.

Ford Australia told me that the gauge dash panel was only made in LHD which is obviously the case, but there's no reason why one couldn't have been made in RHD. My suspicion is that their 'market research' probably told them that people prefer the additional vent in the export markets or some other bollocks like that.

Was informed by Mr Barratt that I should be delivered sometime in February!

When I asked what is different between the UK spec and our US counter parts, I had the following reply from Pierre Bonnett (Product Manager Small cars & Mustang, Ford Britain):-

Dear ,
Andy Barratt has shared with me your email asking for clarifications on the differences between US Mustangs and the European versions.
The process of bringing Mustang to the UK has indeed required a number of modifications to achieve full homologation.
Here is an overview of these changes:
- Larger wing mirrors
- No air extractors on V8 GT bonnet
- No tower strut brace
- DTRL bulbs incorporated in front fog lamps (LED lights in headlamps disabled)
- Rear fog light and reversing light located in lower rear bumper
- Clear tail lights in lieu of red (non sequential)
- 3.55:1 gear ratio with limited slip diff
- 4 piston brake callipers (EcoBoost)
- 6 piston Brembo brake callipers (V8)
- Thatcham Security Package standard
I hope this addresses you query.
We are a couple of weeks away from uploading the Mustang e-brochure to the ford.co.uk website. This will give you the fullest insight into the UK specifications.
Kind regards,
Pierre

Nothing that we probably were not already awrae of but nice to have some confirmation.

Thanks to those who sent these updates to me.

That sounds promising although I guess until we get them over here we won't know for sure if they are just disabled or missing completely.

That said, I'm following a thread started by a Canadian owner, as they're also without the tri-bar DRLs, asking if anyone has managed to get them working, so hopefully that will be a better indicator. :)

Yes, the 370 is sold world wide, LH and RHD, more importantly, the UK, which ford have decided to sell the Mustang in. Also, the 370 has three pod dash gauges, right in the middle of the dash for oil temp, Volt output and a digital clock, they seem to manage these as well in L & RHD. Cup holders and handbrake are LHD configuration, at least that'll not annoy me

I think it's more about assisting us with a price that helps our high tax regime by saving on a few, easy to omit parts.

Was informed by Mr Barratt that I should be delivered sometime in November!
Can you remind us when you put your deposit down? I vaguely recall it being fairly close to mine! Will be over the moon if I get mine this side of xmas! I dropped Mr Barratt an email last night - he responded in minutes promising an update which I was quite impressed with, also mentioned he has a V8 on order - what a legend!

Hooray - at last we will get "something more substantial" than we have had for the last several months! This is a huge step forward as far as I am concerned; it would have been nice to have had this already but since none of us have our cars yet I am just happy to get some more "official" information.

Had a reply from Andy Barratt:
"...
Your vehicle is scheduled to be built in October
On this basis delivery to Birchwood should be early January ..."

I ordered on 23/1/15 . Happy that they can confirm it's actually scheduled !

Have fun
Matt

Lol, I'm suspecting mine might be February too based on Mattus' late Jan15 order and early Jan16 EDD. I ordered 22/2.

Not that i've had an email from Andy yet, but only emailed him on Sunday afternoon.

I was early - mid Jan-15 deposit, and I have an Estimated Build Date of 14th September (or at least week commencing 14th), and Estimated ETA to dealer last week of November / Early December.

Unless there were a lot of deposits in January, this seems like quite a bit of time between our EDD's...

I'm not convinced they're being built in order date. In fact i'm sure I read some months ago the build order was based on a number of factors.

I agree - no obvious order of build - maybe the UCL first but might be more about what colour of panels they have available and then what time of day it is and then how can we really pi** off people who ordered first but then all the orders went into the system at the same time so who cares?

It seems strange that you can put down a deposit in January and then someone in end Feb gets built in front of you. Doesn't match up to the good old British sense of fair play - it's just not cricket is it :)

It does seem as if we are sliding towards the new year for delivery even for January 15 orders - again, doesn't seem fair.

No doubt someone will have an answer somewhere?
