I think Ian is sorta maybe going a bit OTT. Yes its frustrating when a build date gets pushed back, but when you ordered the car they gave you an estimated delivery date (every dealer does). If they miss the delivery date, THEN you have every god-given right to raise absolute hell.

But if the delivery date is still a fair few months away, then I advise you just be patient. Several cars, including my own, are going to be built in December. So that's obviously around the time the next batch is due to be built.

However you make an interesting point, albeit inadvertently. I guess a lot of Americans may not have driven a stick shift, let alone one on the "wrong" side. I imagine space can be tight on these boats :eyebulge:

Just curious, but where did you get the info about the December builds, ie from your dealer, or a letter suggesting they'd do all they could to have the cars built by December (I got this)?

I ordered over a month before you and have had no indication of when my car will actually be built other than the "maybe December if possible" letter.

I got my info from Karen.....she gave me a VIN number, and it shows in ETIS as build date 30/11...........

I've had no response to my last three emails to Karen and based on others' recent replies from her/Andy I'm not trying again.

I would happily take a December build IF it was realistic however I have no VIN as yet and no one is talking.

My dealer told me December and Andy Barratt said delivery was March. It takes 12 weeks to get all the way over here so that points to a December build.

Also, you may not have a VIN yet because they only generate those a few days/weeks before build. Just because it's a December build doesn't mean 00:01 on December 1st. So just give it time because, technically, they've not failed to deliver anything to you yet. Appalling communication, sure, but they've not failed anything yet.

Tempting Fate

My dealer told me my car was built in the last week of October, but no sign on ETIS or a window sticker available.... I have ordered an EB auto convertible, and asked for delivery on 1st April, thinking that would give them plenty of time to sort any possible bugs or issues... I didn't want to be a "pioneer".

I am starting to think that date is now at risk!

Dude, aren't you afraid that if your Mustang arrives before midday the dealer will call you and shout, "APRIL FOOL"! :eyebulge::(

I was given 12/11 as a build date a few weeks back, that's now jumped to 07/12 also. EDD is 20th Feb, which seems pretty optimistic.

April (This year). If it arrived when they're claiming, that'd be a 10 month wait and I was told about 12 at the time.

I was pretty much the other way round - told 10 months and will be at least 12 :doh: February 22nd order.

No VIN and my last advised build date of 15/10 was never a possibility. Might actually get to speak to a salesman this weekend tho...
