Looks like my oil pan is leaking and needing to be replaced.

There’s oil on the pan bolts and there’s a small leak coming from the drain plug (not dripping on the floor but if it’s definitely seeping out). Also there’s a good bit of splatter and misting of oil on the k-member and surrounding areas.

Looking at getting a local dealership to replace the pan but I have some concerns

1. I have a 3rd party warranty through “triton protect” that is a full power train warranty up to 75,000 miles (car currently at 41k). Dealership is acting like they have no clue what that is.

2. I have some pretty expensive suspension modifications I’m worried about the dealership either not wanting to mess with or possibly messing up during the installation of the new oil pan.

Should I just keep the current oil pan since it’s not a detrimental leak and get a upgraded oil drain plug (UPR drain plug) and do a better job keeping the undercarriage clean or just let the dealership deal with it?

comments and concerns are highly appreciated.

I'd call triton and see what they tell you.maybevthey have another shop thalli fix it fir you.i have easy care that was sold to nr by the dealer.i had work done there and it was done.so if you bought it thru dealer bring it there and if they won't id talk to whoever is service manager and tall him you bough insurance there but they won't fixit.if the won't id cancel the extended insurance and get money back.they won't like that

I'm not sure why you think the oil pan is bad? Lots of places can leak above it and drain down. Get a mechanic to check it out before you load a parts cannon.
Calling your aftermarket "warranty" company for a mechanic recommendation is a good idea from an accepting the coverage standpoint.

It’s 100% the oil pan. After some thinking I’m probably just going to get a new drain plug and give everything a good clean and drive for a while longer and see how it looks after that. I only drive this car once or twice on the weekends and I’ve known about this “leak” for months now but it’s time for an oil change which has peaked my interest in this.

What did you use/ how did you do it?
Subframe out, oil pan out, new gasket, new sealant.
Leaked again and more, same procedure again but new oil pan as well.
All covered under Ford extended warranty.

Not sure if the dealer messed up the oil pan with tightening the bolts over spec while trying to stop the leak without the big procedure as a first try...
